Title: Genvoya
Post by: lismind on March 03, 2019, 10:32:56 pm
Hi, I just started taking Genvoya and there is no generic alternative to it as far as I know or am I wrong about it? If I'm wrong could anyone share the info on that?
Or is to when it may come out?

Since itís a relatively new drug itíll be years before a generic comes out. Seems to be working ok for me.

Genvoya came out in 2015 and generally drug companies keep their patents for 20 years.  Often they will try to change the drug slightly to keep it going longer.  Sad to say there won't be a generic anytime soon.   With that said I have been taking Genvoya for well over a year (could be longer I'm bad with dates) and I don't have any problems with it.  If you want to know more I can always tell you about my experience but always talk to a Dr for medical advice.
