Im praying that this story is correct as it would be amazing but guess we will have to see, here is the jist of the story. It says scientists have discovered how to remove the virus from infected cells. They egineered an enzyme that attacks the DNA of the HIV virus and cuts it out of the infected cell.Although they also say it could be a while before the enzyme could be used to treat patients.Lets hope not too long check out Bgay.com for details.

Hi andrews,
this should rather go in "Research News".
It's an interesting discovery and let's hope they can start Phase I trials soon.

Even IF this is the beginnning of the end of HIV , there would still be a long way (minimum 10 years, the report says) to go before a therapy based on these findings would be availabe. The technique was successful in human tissue cultivated in vitro. Now they are gonna try it in mice.
