Still in shock. Always been a girl girl. No drugs, no messing around, until a few months ago, when I had too much to drink and slept with a friend.
Come to find out, I was pregnant.. And last week with my routine labs comes the worst news. So this person gave me a baby and HIV. So bittersweet.
Now to move on. I hope this site will give me hope.

Shany_lee27 I am so sorry to hear about your condition. You need to talk with your doctors about the best therapy possible. But I am not sure that routine lab test can show if you contracted hiv or antibodies... Did you go to the clinic and confirm the results with western blot? Anyway you need to stay strong and think about this as a sigh because everything happens with a reason. I am newly diagnosed(1 month ago) and Im 22 years old... If you need to talk about anything this is the right place. Don't worry cause there is always hope and it will get better soon. Lots of hugs

Thanks, I was retested and confirmed with WB test. VL 60,000, cd4 248. Starting meds tomorrow.

ojo Hi Shany....I'm sos orry about your situation, but in here, you will fine lots of people who cares, so, all I can tell you is that there is life after a HIV dx, take it from someone who has lived with it for 20 years..so, I guess you and your doctor will talk and take care about your pregnancy...wishing you the best..a big hug on your way ojo
