Dear everyone,
firstly thanks for a wonderful forum.
Today I come with great anxiety and a serious question.
In March (2012) I performed unprotected oral sex on a shemale prostitute in one of Germany's high rise brothels. I would the say the episode was relatively brief, lasting a few minutes and there was no ejaculation involved. Although Precum is likely possible I really don't know.
What bothers me is that a week prior to this I had my wisdom tooth extracted and there was obviously still some damage from the extraction in my mouth.
So is there a highly significant risk here? The wound was spitting blood out but it definitely wasn't fully healed.
A month later I had abit of a sore throat on a long haul flight a few hours later it went away and i developed a cough that lasted for a month until early May. I had Malaise and occasional night sweats. I have now been told I have a swollen lymph node under my jaw. I don't know if that was there before the doctor had a pretty hard time finding it.
the 3 months are now up but as I'm living in Japan and they can't explain the results of a test in english I don't want to have one here. If it tests positive I would have nobody to talk to and I would have no idea where I stand. I'd be a wreck much worse than I am now.
I will test when I return to the United States. Until then what is your opinion on this?

You never had an exposure.

As Rod has indicated, you are worrying needlessly. Containing as it does over a dozen enzymes and proteins, your saliva forms a very effective barrier to the transmission of viable HIV. Even with that recovering removal of a tooth which would have been well on the way to healing in the time frame you have mentioned.
There is no need for testing unless you want to do it just for your peace of mind. In which case you can collect the inevitable negative result.
This is not an HIV situation.

I have total respect for you guys and I do believe you. My dentist said the wound was almost healed the day before my escapade.
Within the 3 months the sickness that I had (most likely a chest infection) google and my now swollen lymph node have got the better of me and lead me into a convincing paranoia that I have hiv. You've given me peace of mind.
Ill take a full sexual health check up it never hurts to do that. I'd reccommend that to anyone.
Sometimes people need an experience like this to make them think in the future. I certainly always will.
To all those unfortunate enough to suffer with hiv I wish you the best of health and keep fighting. This could really happen to anyone.
I won't bother you with anymore questions on this thread I'm sure you have enough to deal with.
