The Man Who Was Immune to AIDS; But not what came after.

Very interesting story in the current New York Magazine on the suicide/death of Steve Crohn, the earliest HIV-negative person from the early 80's epidemic years that helped doctors identify why a small amount of people are immune from HIV.

I agree, very interesting.

I also pulled my post from last year: http://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=50496.msg604721#msg604721

Thanks for the post. I had forgotten his story. Pretty disconcerting the negative and hurtful comments made by respondents to his obit. No one should second guess the demons we have to deal with.

Read to me that this was a suicide off control. He had had enough , and I for one can not feel any anger towards him, though I have been made furious by others suicide,s .

For many off us who lived through that period we have to deal with the mis conceptions some non-hiv and post HAART HIV folk have. For me it,s the notion that I must see every day as a gift..........
