Hullo all , thought I could handle the inevitable !

 our family home in Greenfield hill ,Ct.   just sold for   $997,000 , the first thing they did was BULL DOSE   60   years of family history !

 I was going to go up today  and take a look , but I just stayed  in Waterbury  and cried !  Maybe I will wait   until the next time I come to Connecticut
then look and see what kind of   dwelling they have produced !  It will not have any of the charm   .

 I hope it is haunted by my parents !

Most distressing, but that's what happens when stuff is sold. The new owners acquire the right to do as they please with it.

Karl, I sympathize.  My parents both passed within the last nine months and their house is up for sale.  It was weird being in it the last time, with it being bare, but still lots of memories there.  It's just something I had to let go of.  But I know, it takes awhile.

I always though there should be stronger taxes on home demolition.  With all the hoo-ha about the environment nobody seems to bat an eye when a perfectly good house is knocked down and tonnes of material goes to the landfill.
