measurements...
« on: February 16, 2013, 09:13:27 pm »
Ok,
Went to the endocrinologist the other day about testosterone fluctuation issue.
First visit.
Asked my hubby to "join" me.
Saw a woman doc for the initial interview/questioning about pretty personal "guy" topics.
Answered her questions honestly.
Then...
the doc who i had the appointment with comes in.
Talked about my shrinking balls. (not microscopic like W_mp_), but rather...
shall we say... notably smaller.
She (doc #1) says, "don't worry, we will measure".
Sure enough, he lifts up my hospital gown and takes a caliper to my precious nuggets.
She bolts up from her chair to get a peek.
Hubby says he looked away but I know he is a fibber.
GeeeeeeZZZZ,
An audience for a testicular exam.
What's next??? ;D

Wait wut? I've never heard of this. I've never had mine measured with calipers, my doc just "eyeballs" them. Eyeballin the balls you might say.

I think you were just molested by two docs and your hubby.

oh ps- what were the measurements?

1.) No wonder why you have never heard of this. Yours sounded like they were smaller than the caliper was able to measure.

Well get ready.  I was just completely buck naked at the doctor last week.  AND, the gown opens in the back FYI.

So, all this suspense.  Whats the verdict? What is a normal sized ball anyway?

Are you taking Testosterone? My blood test is next week and they are checking my testosterone levels (I have never had them tested before, but due to some shit my doc thought it would be prudent to check.  I really don't want another thing to worry about, ya know.

Nah bugg, not on Testosterone. I thought i might need it due to energy levels,  but doc tested and i have more than most 20yr olds, so none for me yet.  I was thinking of going to one of these testosterone clinics where they don't care what your numbers are, but i changed my mind.

Oh mitchypoo, I could have saved you the embarrassment of feminine testicular examination and provided an expert diagnosis via skype. I'm certain the cause of your miniscule jism factories is the profusion of chartreuse in both your home decorating and wardrobe. The combination of such factors with this particular color is lethal. It may seem logical to simply change this underlying cause but I'm afraid the damage is done as it's caused a mitochondria dysfunction. The only solution known is to eat cod milt (shirako) three meals a day for an entire month. Consider yourself lucky that it's in season at the moment.

I sure dropped trou for my PAP smear - and for the prostate exam.

thank you for the kind offer of a skype exam and your diagnosis.
my "factories" were declared "normal" by the doc even tho i know they have retreated in size.
(guess i must have had "above average" before. :))

what you did on your personal time is your own business.

unfortunately it was cold and clinical. :(

The outcome of the exam was that he lowered my dose of testosterone because I happened to be in the "lucky" 5-10% of patients that respond by getting thick "gloppy" (his words) blood.
It can raise the chances of stroke and heart attack. :(

Anywho, glad that you enjoyed your wasted visit with your specialist due to faulty self-diagnosis.

Lucky you. I am soon to be 54 and my level was around 200. (one test was less than 50)
I didnt know you were a fellow junkie like myself! Do you inject? How much? I do 2ml every 2 weeks right in the le (g.  8)
I don't need to inject because the gel seems to absorb well.
(evidenced by my high red blood cell count)
I started on 5 grams and felt a small bump in energy (not much) but my T levels didn't go up much.
Then increased to 10 grams with another small bump in energy.
The trouble with 10 grams is that is boosted my red blood cell count too high.
I hate the idea of feeling like a slug but also don't look forward to a stroke.

One option to thin out the blood is draining a pint periodically.
The enro doc isn't too keen on that option due to "unknown side effects" of forcing my body to make new blood so often.
He said it might be an option for "quality of life".
I will see how I feel on the reduced amount of gel.

Also, I didn't know you were on testosterone. Why did you stop treatment?Lucky you.

I was on it from '00-'05 due to HIV wasting issues i.e. to gain weight back/increase appetite. My testosterone levels weren't actually below normal so I was not on this for the reasons that you other fine folks are. So once I gained back sufficient weight I went off of it.

No, this is only been happening recently and it is his idea to be in closer touch with my doctors as he knows my memory has gotten pretty bad.
He loves me and has told me this almost every day for 18 years. :)
Are you about to puke yet? :)

Ed ( My partner), goes to every doctor's appointment with me.  He looks forward to it, and doesn't hesitate to ask questions that I may forget to ask, so it proves very beneficial, to both of us  ;)

I've had partners at various times since my diagnosis. I wouldn't drag someone to a routine appointment, that's just weird. Going with me for a surgical procedure is obviously different due to anesthesia.

The only time a significant other went with me was for my very first cd4 test when they'd called me a few hours earlier with my diagnosis. And he was actually my "ex" by several months so that doesn't count.

I can lay my balls on a table and go in another room to get the ruler to measure without them moving .

Me thinks that either you need a new ruler or new glasses.

I wonder why you seem to have more ex's than you ever had partners, your pushing 50 and you haven't found a real-life partner yet......tick tock, tick tock  your running outta time sweetie  ;D

Who said that I'm looking for anything?

Furthermore, why are you so obsessed with who gains regular access to my sublime love tunnel?

I'm sorry about that Mitch. That was my big problem pre-testo therapy. I couldnt get out of bed, sleeping all the time. 10 hour nights, and 2 hour naps.
