Full Of Anxiety and Stress Kindly Help
« on: July 30, 2013, 09:30:04 am »
Hi Team

Kindly help me remove my anxiety and stress. I was in Mexico in December and went to a strip club on night there i took a lap dance from a stripper(Don't know the status) and we kissed on lips(no idea if blood passed) and I also kissed her boobs. After that night I Have been thinking that I have HIV I was feeling very stressful with no symptoms neither any fever. and at last after 6 weeks I went for the HIV rapid and ELISA test which came out to be negative. I am still very much tensed and stressed. I am married and due to this stress I am not able to give time to my family and Friends as well. Kindly help me out.

Should I be worried about the HIV now as I have got it tested as well ?
Should I go for another HIV test to remove my stress and anxiety ?
Reading Google make me feel more paneroid and stressed. Kindly help me please.

Thanks in advance

Stressed,

Kissing is absolutely NOT a risk for hiv infection. Unless you repeatedly punched the woman in the mouth before you kissed her, there could not possibly be enough blood present to cause the slightest bit of concern.

Boob kissing is also not a risk. Hiv is NOT present on the surface of the skin, and breast milk is only a problem for tiny infants who rely solely on breast milk for nourishment.

In adults, hiv is transmitted through:

Unprotected anal intercourse.

Unprotected vaginal intercourse.

Sharing drug injecting equipment.

And that's IT.

You do not need further hiv testing over this NO RISK incident, unless that's the only way to ease your mind. The vast majority of people who have actually been infected will seroconvert and test positive by six weeks, with the average time to seroconversion being only 22 days.

A six week negative must be confirmed at the three month point - where there has been a risk and you did NOT have a risk - but is highly unlikely to change.

You did NOT have a risk for hiv infection. Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!!!

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

Thanks Ann

Should I just forget everything and leave everything behind. I cannot concentrate on my life.

I am afraid a lot. I don't know why. Even after getting tested and getting negative and knowing that my risk was negligible I am not able to concentrate and stressed.

What should I do to overcome this thought I want to and when I am busy I am able to forget as soon as I am free mind it comes to my mind.

Kindly advice me for this Ann.

Thanks

Stressed,

Your risk wasn't "negligible", it was non-existent. If testing again will help, by all means do it, but don't be surprised by another negative result.

If you still can't put this behind you, perhaps counselling is in order. Hiv isn't a punishment you know - so you had a lap-dance, so what. You're not the first married man to enjoy a lap-dance and and you certainly won't be the last either. Dump the guilt overboard - it's not doing you any favours. Do something nice for your wife and let it go.

Thanks Ann and Jeff for your Help and Support.

I am eased of much of the stress and anxiety by your words and opinion.

I will take on with my life and try to forget this as the bad incident in life and a lesson to never repeat it again so that it doesn't cause any trouble and stress in my life.

I will also stop goggling as it cause a lot of false information and stress in my mind.

Please one more time tell me that its nothing and I am infection free from this incident.

Thanks a lot. God bless you all .
