Hi,

I must really appreciate this forum and I have been reading all the posts in here. However,I am just not able to confront myself with what I had done about 8 days ago.I happened to be a little drunk (Though I knew what I was doing).I ended up picking up a sex worker and had protected vaginal sex using 2 condoms. My only issue here was I had a relatively recent 2mm cut on my middle finger which had occurred due to me biting my skin about a couple of hours prior to the incident .Though there was no blood, there seemed to be a pink color spot on my finger and this accidentally came in contact with this small cut while I was changing positions.I had not fingered her other wise.My other fear is ,on my left thumb I had a relatively deep 3 day old sore (which was pink and not yet scabbed or healed)  and im not too sure if I did com in contact with vaginal fluids.I have been deeply terrified and worried about this incident and am just not able to sleep and after the 4th day of this incident I have had severe headaches and a heavy feeling in my head and have been feeling my throat all day long to check if i have swollen lymph nodes and am slightly developing a throat and chest congestion on the 8th day.Kindly request you to let me know what my risk was and if i need to be tested.Does using 2 condoms give you an extra safety? and I am pretty much sure that the condoms were intact after intercourse , though it was removed by the sex worker as I dint notice or feel it was broken.

Pop, you are worrying needlessly. The most important thing is that you used condoms for intercourse. The ONLY confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. As long as condoms are used consistently and properly for those activities you will be well protected against HIV transmission.

Nothing else in your details of the incident put you at risk for HIV. If you have troubling symptoms you should discuss them with your doctor. They have nothing to do with HIV.

By the way, if I understood you correctly you doubled condoms when having intercourse. That's a mistake. Doubling them can actually cause breakage. Just use one condom properly and that will do the job.

There is cause for further concern on your part about HIV and there's no need for testing. Get on with your life.

Thank you so much for your reply Andy.I was so worried about the cut in my finger. Now I am just hoping that my using 2 condoms dint cause it to rupture or break, though I really do not remember it breaking, but just a little paranoid.

You would have known if the condoms had broken. When that happens it's not about a teeny weeny little hole as people often fear. No, the whole thing goes and ends up looking like a hoop with fringe on your penis.

So you have no cause for concern this time. On with your life now!
