OK guys and gals here is my situation and problem. i am married man 2 kids have never had any sexual relations meaning vaginal,anal,oral other than with my wife. i tested negative for HIV in DEC 2008 as i always have upon donating blood. only thing i have ever done is gotten massages at massage places and gotten handjobs after wards . the women that did the handjobs were fully clothes no body rubbing just hand to penis contact. on DEC 20Th i went to the hospital with a stomach pain i was asked if i wanted to include HIV in my blood work i said sure no problem . seven days later i get a call that i tested positive for HIV and that it was confirmed by westernblot. i of course told my wife right away and had her get tested. thankgod she came back negative right away and 90 test showed the same. no here is the problem i don't do drugs never had a needle stick exposure or had intercourse with anybody but my wife. only thing i did was get handjobs . i went to see an infectious d doctor in Jan he did an RNA and CD4 count test and tested me for any other std . the results came back as RNA no virus load below <20 copies CD4 counts within normal range 38 percent not positive for any other STD. but i am positive for HIV antibodies and DNA . this don't make sense . i have been very stress depressed over all this. is it possible to get HIV from hand to penis contact with no fluids exchanging or i am i having the mother of all cross reactions?

It is absolutely not possible to get HIV from hand to penis contact.

I cannot speculate further on your medical testing, but I certainly hope you sort everything out. If you are indeed HIV positive, and with your atypical numbers I harbor some questions about that, you will be reassured to know that is you use condoms for penetrative anal or vaginal sex, you can avoid passing the virus to your wife.

I certainly hope you get to the root of this matter, one way or another.

thks for the reply jkinatl2 i have been doing all that i can to get answers to my situation. as far as doctors when it comes to the infectious disease doctor i don't think he cares much as to how this could have happend . he was more on the you  tested positive so u are positive. my regular doctor on the other hand tells me i should not lose sleep that antibodies are antibodies and that false positives can happen . i went got retested antibodies still show up but some bands are missing from the western blot that were there on the first test. but there are enough to make it positive.  i know HIV is not an easy virus to catch by any means unless its in the right conditions . other than the handjobs i got which probally should have never happend . i had a massage on Oct 31 2011 in which the woman pop-ed a pimple i had in my back squeezing my skin together then she cleaned it with a tissue from a clean box. the second was Nov 22 i got another massage in which the girl pinched my toe on my left foot i didn't see any blood she said it was Chinese medicine. i ask the doctors if that was a possibility for infection they said most likely not because if it was that recent and i got tested for RNA in Jan 19Th i would have showed high virus levels. is that correct ? thks for looking at my post it my sound crazy but getting feedback gives me hope.

You are not reporting ANY risks for hiv infection.

Yes, if you were dealing with a recent infection, your RNA viral load test would have been very high - certainly not undetectable.

I think you need to have this investigated carefully. It really does sound to me like you're dealing with a false positive situation.

Sometimes an underlying (and possibly not-yet-diagnosed) autoimmune disease can cause false positives. If I were you, I'd see a GP to get a full physical and ask to be screened for autoimmune markers.

thks ann for the reply . i have done what you said i even went to see a clinical immunologist and allergy doctor they ran more blood work. and all my levels came back normal cd4 36 percent cd8 34 percent . the only thing that came back was my igg level sub class 1 came back high at 960 cutoff for normal is 935 and my ch<50 came back above 60. i asked him what that meant he said that my body is producing a lot of antibodies which was not a bad thing since all my other counts cbc and rbc and wbc are in normal range. i also heard the term hypergammabluemia but it seems like here in longisland hiv is very taboo what i am saying is it seems no one really wants to look into my case. or they think i am lying like a typical man would when he made a big mistake that was life altering. i really wish i could find someone that would be really willing to look at my case. one thing i was involved in was 9/11/2001 i worked right next to the rubble when the towers fell and was in that area for 6 years after. i thankyou ann for your reply . i know things happen for a reason and who knows maybe i have something special inside me that can help people . overall im in good health only problems over the last six months have been a emotional and tension on my head and eyes back pains etc .  also my wife got retested for hiv  recently after 90 marker she thank god is negative .

I'm not seeing HIV here. Like Ann says there are no clear risks of infection. Noting that HIV is a particular disease and we can tell if you have it or you don't I have to say I don't think HIV is your problem.

I think your best bet is with your clinical immunologist. Sometimes there is no clear cause for what makes people ill.

If you're not able to find appropriate services on Long Island, have you considered venturing further afield in New York City?

I should add that I am not ruling out HIV infection in your case, but it seems unlikely.
