I know most sites and doctors says vitamins and suppliments dont do anything but that is becuz the FDA doesn't want people to be healthy lol. I take over 20 pills a day in vitamins and minerals throughout the day, to keep all my reserves at 100% for all my needs. They say not to take Algae, Goldensea and echinecia, or some other herbs becuz they can interact with medication. I take Atripla and i been taking the pills that doctors say u shouldnt, such as goldenseal and echinecia and i take bee pollen, royal jelly, and tons of other from multis of all the vitamns and minerals antioxidants etc.... and my counts are still undetecable and cd4 count 620.... so i guess everyone is different but after taking these herbs and spplients over a year... and im still healthy proves to me that dr just tell u what the CDC says is bad, but obv... with me, taking vitamin D, C, and multis, and goldenseal, and all these natural herbs (i only take the vitamins that are organic and natural) and i read all labels etc, and it hasnt effectd me negativley and i take SAM-E and other mood support herbs and they are better than antidepressants. Funny how natural vitamins and minerals and herbs work better than man-made drugs that interact with everything. Atripla works for me and the herbs i take daily for over a year has kept my numbers high!

How do you know that the "supplements" have kept your numbers high?

    interesting....  correlation does not equal.....

but this would probably be a thread most suited for  "Nutrition and HIV " rather than this one.

I've got a decent amount of experience with supplements and have a certificate in performance nutrition. My typing skills suck, so I won't get into this too deeply, except to say that there are very good multi vitamin/mineral products out there that will provide what may be lacking in your diet without taking up the entire top of your refrigerator. One of my favorites is Beverly International's Super Pak

Also...something I was told years ago that stuck in my head. "If you can't tell if the vitamins you're taking are doing anything or not to help...they're probably not"

In my opinion you're playing with fire.   The interactions between those supplements and Atripla becomes an absorption issue, in regards to the Atripla I mean.  Thus you  may not have optimal levels of antiviral to always combat the virus, or worse the levels are low enough to allow mutation resulting in resistance.

Right now it's working for you, but who knows what may happen down the road.

I think you should be crediting the Atripla with keeping your numbers up, which it has been proven to do, and not the supplements, which have not been proven to do.
