Terrifying, I need some advice!!!! please help.
« on: March 25, 2013, 01:50:05 pm »
2 days ago i went to 24hour fitness to workout. When i was working on my biceps. The pad was torn a small part(already been there for long time) where i put my arm. When i put my arm on the pad, it was hurt a little bit but i didnt notice it until i get home 2 hours later. I saw a red mark like a dot on my left elbow(which i put on the torn part). Is there any chance that i was poked by a needle with hiv blood of sb else hidden in there. If so, am i infected?? :'(. Is there any symptom i should notice ????

Hi Bats . HIV is a fragile, difficult to transmit virus that is primarily transmitted INSIDE the human body, as in unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse where the virus never leaves the confines of the two bodies.

Once outside the body, small changes in temperature, and pH and moisture levels all quickly damage the virus and render it unable to infect.

Its beyond paranoid to think that a person would hide a needle or syringe in hopes of infecting someone . In order for that to happen it would have be fresh blood and then
the syringe would have to be depressed to make an injection , all of which is ridiculous and something you would have noticed . I'm HIV positive , if I stuck myself with a pin and you took that pin and stuck your self with it , it still wouldn't be infectious because of it being exposed to air and the pH changes .

You do not need to worry about getting exposed to HIV in the manner you described .
