Robbed on my meds in New Orleans
« on: February 21, 2017, 12:59:00 pm »
Hey guys. I moved here to NOLA two months ago and had a steady supply of Triumeq but was unfortunately robbed while leaving work in the quarter. My insurance is Washington State Molina and I'm actually going to be leaving to move to Los Angeles on the 7th. Do I have any options a far as receiving emergency meds? I've been really sick the past few days and I think it's partially a manefistation of my anxiety from not taking them for the past almost three weeks. Thanks for the help.

That sucks, i hope whoever stole them chocked on them.

Moved you thread here for better visibility. Might sound naive but have you asked the insurance company or local ASO for assistance?

You can look up the local HIV/AIDS Service Organization in the link below:
Not sure what support they can offer in US but always worth a try

I would have to agree with Jim on contacting your ASO.  I know at the ASO I worked at we had stashes of meds on hand in case someone really needed them.  As far as the ones that were stolen, I would talk to the insurance company about how they handle stolen meds, like if you can get refills before the time is due for them.  But, if you don't have a police report and it's been 3 weeks you're probably screwed on that.

I'm sorry that happened.  Hopefully the people will take them and get very, very sick.  Good luck and please contact the ASO.

Sorry to read about your situation.

I agree with the response posts from Jim and Betty to contact your local ASO.

Take care.
