Possible Exposure

Hi, I think I may have had a possible exposure. I went to a massage parlor on Dec 19th. The worker pleasured herself before touching my penis. I think I have herpes and I'm not sure if the bump was completely healed. I think her vaginal fluid may have entered in me. She only touched me for a second because I quickly stopped her. Last week I experienced back pain, a sore throat, and a slight rash on my right hand. This week I experienced razor like marks on both of my palms. It looks like someone cut me with a razor. I also felt very weak yesterday. I feel better today. I'm not sure if these symptoms ar ARS or from stress. Do these symptoms resembles ARS? I'm panicking, I dont want to spread this to anyone. I cant eat or sleep well Thank you

You have NOT had a risk for hiv infection, regardless of your herpes.

Hiv is a fragile, difficult to transmit virus that is primarily transmitted INSIDE the human body, as in unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse where the virus never leaves the confines of the two bodies.

Once outside the body, small changes in temperature, and pH and moisture levels all quickly damage hiv and render it unable to infect. For this reason, you're not going to become infected from fluids on someone's fingers, regardless of where they put those fingers.

If you feel unwell, see a doctor. Whatever is going on has nothing to do with hiv.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST FOR HIV SPECIFICALLY OVER THIS NO RISK SITUATION, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Hi,

I had oral and vaginal sex with a condom from unknown status.  My penis was dry after both.  A towel was used to clean me off.  The towel touched my pubic hair.  I'm not sure if there were any fluids from the girl on my pubic hair?  If so, could that be passed from the towel into the penis?

You did not have a risk ... sexual fluids are not infectious for the instant they leave the body .

Hi,

I had ARS symptoms after the encounter. A sore throat 4-5 days after. Night Sweats randomly 2 months after. It's been 4 months since the encounter. Now I have a pimple on lower abdomen. I'm worried. Is it normal to show symptoms this late? I know you mentioned the virus dies outside the body, but is it immediately?  I'm still nervous about the girls fluids being on my pubic hair and towel I used to clean myself.  I'm debating on taking a test just to make sure.  Is it worth spending the money?

As you were told you never had a risk.  If you want to test, it would be only for your piece of mind, as you never had a risk.
