cold water therapy
« on: November 01, 2012, 04:29:59 pm »
hi guys my first time here!  has anyone heard about the health benefits of cold water therapy? Some people advocate , Cold showers provide a gentle form of stress that leads to thermogenesis (internal generation of body heat), turning on the body’s adaptive repair systems to strengthen immunity, enhance pain and stress tolerance, and ward off depression, overcome chronic fatigue syndrome, stop hair loss, and stimulate anti-tumor responses. http://gettingstronger.org/ is where a found it,although some studies have shown that it can cause transient arrhythmias in patients with heart problems and can also inhibit humoral immunity. the inhibit humoral immunity, is the part that freaks me out!!!!!! my count is only 345.  i would so love to do this ,if it would help!!!! love cold water!

You think cold water is going to stop HIV replication?  Puleeze.

Anyway, welcome to the forum. I think you better read some lessons here and learn the science that tells us everything we know now about how HIV kills, and how to treat it with real medicine.

Now if you are just wondering if cold water has health benefits, sure why not.  Katherine Hepburn and Rose Kennedy swore by swimming in the the winter sea.

Welcome to the forum!

I am glad cold water makes you feel better. It does exactly shit-nothing for CD3 counts, Viral load, hair loss, or any other known condition.

It might help with the fatigue associated with depression, as that cld water really wakes you up.

You might want to start a thread in LIVING WITH, introduce yourself, and all that :) - I'm a big fan of perspective.
