Good afternoon ladies (or good morning if you are in a different part of the world!)
I got my blood results (verbal) on Tuesday from my wonderful, wonderful doctor 'Molly' and of course the second I left the building forgot what they were! However she had insisted on getting copies made for me (bless her) and I picked them up today. Wouldn't it have been lovely had she said, oh look its all a mistake! But no! Anyway, the results were actually not too bad considering my poor husband has actually been diagnosed as 'AIDS' and is quite ill.
Here are my results (in no particular order!)
CD4 263 12.5% and VL 87,650
Of course I have been doing my reading on the site here and understand what these figures mean but there are others that I have researched but am relying on my specialist to go through those with me. Now I see the specialist on Tuesday (hope I like her as much as I like 'Molly') and we at least have got something to work on. Obviously I realise I need to be started on meds so that will be the big decision. I still have to get my drug resistance tests back but hopefully should have those my Tuesday.
Thankfully I am feeling positive about everything at the moment (is this the result of the 'happy' pills I am on or is my natural resiliance taking over?) and am 'enjoying' filling my time researching and actually realising that I don't have to turn into a drudge and have started putting on my make-up before I make that exciting trip to the supermarket. I was going to treat myself to a haircut but have developed this horrible spot type skin infection on my forehead. Not sure if it is related to HIV or not but am frightened that the hairdresser will break the skin and spread it. Am I being uber cautious or should I wait till the specialist looks at it?
Anyway, I will keep you wonderful ladies updated. Hope you are all in the best of spirits.

I'm glad you got copies of your labs. When I get my blood drawn, I always ask for copies and the lab always sends them to me. When you get on the meds, thing should start to improve.
About the skin thing, we were just discussing this in another thread in the "Living With" forum. Well, maybe not particularly what you have, but skin issues in general. I think you should see a dermatologist, and soon. You don't want anything to get started or spread when it doesn't have to. Good luck!

i agree with Betty that u should get the infection seen to before it spreads or develops into something else. and its on your forehead! imagine what u'd look like :o

Hi ladies
Thanks for the help. Although the rash is clearing I am still going to see Dermatologist as my husband needs to go anyway. Might as well get two for the price of one! I think it may have been new hair wax I was using(!) but then again, you never know!
Em I love the Happy Pills + Scottish Resliance! I think that is so true!
