Will Maria Get Tested....
« on: May 21, 2011, 10:11:30 am »
and had she been getting tested regularly? Or were they practicing safe sex. Right, LOL!

Or were they just assuming that because they were married, they were in a monogamous relationship and therefore it was not necessary, you know the double standard thing between the straight and gay world.

I would bet bottom dollar that neither she, Elizabeth Edwards, Hilary Clinton or any of the many others have or feel the need to be tested for STDS and most certainly not for HIV.

Good question and point!  Maria is going to pretty much OWN the spermanator at this point and if she does test positive for any STD, it will be disastrous for his career indeed.

I saw yesterday where another woman has 'come out' stating that she too had an affair with him.

DS, because you're discussing whether or not celebrities/famous people get tested for hiv, I've moved your thread into the Living forum. Off Topic is meant for subjects off the topic of hiv/aids.

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

I recently commented on the double standard.  If she or any straight married woman or man became poz due to infidelity, most would never say they should have been using condoms.  However, many would say this about a gay relationship.  Many would at least say you were putting yourself at risk by not using condoms in a gay marriage or "marriage."

And, maybe this just goes with the territory.  We know HIV is predominately a heterosexual disease worldwide, but still mostly a gay thang in western countries.  Married gays are more likely to contract HIV, if their partner goes astray.  By no means am I saying straight couples don't have to worry about this.  In fact, I would suggest Maria get tested.  But her chances of being infected are much less--especially if she wasn't letting the Terminator in her back door, and Arnold wasn't doing dudes or shooting up.  Most people would be very surprised if she ended up poz.  If Elton tested poz due to infidelity, it wouldn't be a total shock for many folks.
