Condom broke, worried sick

Hello guys

A few weeks ago I had a happening with a man of unknown HIV status. Worst case scenario I will presume he is positive. When I asked him about his HIV status he said I shouldn't think about stupid things...

Anyway we started kissing, then we engaged in oral sex, he was putting his mouth on my penis.

Then we decided to try anal. I put on the condom and some creme and I penetrated him. We had sex for about a minute, then he wanted to put a pillow under him. I pulled my penis out and condom was still on and intact from what I could notice.

After the pillow was now under him, I tried to penetrate him again, but during entrance halfway in, or fully in I really can't recall I sensed a snap in the condom, after which I immediately pulled out the same second, two at the very most, condom was broken at the head. 30 seconds later I went to the bathroom and didn't notice any blood on my penis or my urethral opening. There was just that oily thing all over my penis from the inside of the condom and possible from the creme. I washed my penis with water. My penis is not very big. I would say less than regular size, but still considered normal.

After that we didn't do anything else.

I have a few questions:

1) - How risky was that situation?

2) - My urethral opening is not very big but it is in the shape of lips, it has always been like that. Does that increase the risk. In other words is there any chance that the mucous membrane is on the outside of the urethra?

3) - I know I shouldn't be chasing symptoms, but a week later I had a very uneasy stomach and was nauseous for about 10-12 hours. This lasted only one night. Could that be ARS?

After this happening I confessed everything to my monogamous partner (he forgave me), and he was not worried about this incident. He said I shouldn't worry either and I continued to have unprotected sex with him (we were both tested and neg before and I have no reason whatsoever to doubt him). He did tell me for peace of mind I should get tested at the correct time intervals.

Its rare to go on and test positive after a condom break with insertion of short duration . The oral sex was not a risk . Although the condom break was lower on the scale of risk it was a risk all the same so you will need to test at 6 weeks past any possible exposure and follow up at 3 months to confirm the results . You have every right to expect a negative result from this specific incident .

This is not a factor in you risk profile .

We do not discuss symptoms because they are not specific to HIV and could be caused by anything . The only way to know your status is to test in the time frame I provided above . If you are sick go see a doctor .

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

So my risk was a risk but not something I should lose much sleep about?

I talked with a doctor about the test and he said that after 4 weeks I can make a conclusive HIV DUO 4th gen.

You are correct about not losing too much sleep about this . I really do think you are going to be OK .

All HIV test have to be confirmed at 3 months with the standard antibody test . If you are paying for the test I would simply wait and test at 6 weeks and confirm at 3 months since you are going to have to do so anyway . Waiting to test is not going to change the results as there are no shortcuts to confirming the results at 3 months . Some doctors or clinics are making lots of money off these test and playing on your anxiety and fear to sell them .

Nope, in my country all HIV tests are free, so is this one. Sure I will do a 6 week test as well, but he and most other people that are knowledgeable about the subject told me I can take the 4 weeks test as conclusive. 3 months is still official though, have no idea why.
