Nipple Sucking with Blood Present
« on: April 26, 2017, 07:49:32 am »
Hey all,
Yesterday I was making love with my boyfriend, then I tasted blood and saw a blood-saliva mix on his nipple, while I was sucking his nipples. Stopped immediately, went to the washroom and washed my mouth with antiseptic soap, then I realized that my lips were cracked. So it might be my blood or him, I am not that sure. But I still consider that it's his blood.

Are there any chance that I can get HIV from this? Should I get tested for this exposure?

Thanks
Best

Hi, You have had no risk for HIV, first off your mouth is a natural barrier, your saliva damages the virus and leaves it unable to infect. The virus is sexually transmitted through unprotected anal and vaginal intercourse, so let this go.

There is certainly no need to test over this incident, however anyone who is sexually active should test routinely for all STIs .

Hey Wade,

First of all, hearty thanks for your quick reply. As far as I know, HIV is a blood-borne virus; so I still feel kind of weird when you've said this exposure is no risk to me- even I tasted the whole blood and saw the saliva-blood mixture on his nipples.

Today, I've talked to the guy I made love with. He told me that he has never teste before but never had unprotected anal either. He only had unprotected orals -both receptive and insertive- and 2 protected anal intercourse, plus dozens of french kissing :) .

To be honest, I'm not that eager to be an OCD-paranoid-guy and strongly want to let that go and move on. Are there any scientific articles that I can read and learn the truths about the transmission routes of HIV?

Do those intercourse he's told should pose any risk to him? And what about me?

Thanks again
Best,
Sean

I don't care how weird it makes you feel because you tasted blood... your mouth has dozens of proteins and enzymes that damage the virus. Thus IF your partner is living with HIV it was still not a risk.

HIV is sexually transmitted though unprotected anal and vaginal intercourse...end of story. Protected intercourse is not a risk and you my friend can move on.
