Ou est Grace Jones

Reading the threads on 80's music, brought back memories of one of my favorite artists- Grace.
She is a mix of punk, fashion model, actor, chanteuse. A woman with balls.
I first discovered her in a book by Jean Paul Goude- where she was spliced up. My friends turned me on to her first disco records that weren't so hot. Teaming with fellow Jamaicans the riddim twins- Sly and Robbie- try and find a reggea record they weren't on, she tore up the underground dance floor with hits like "Pull Up To The Bumper",  " My Jamaican Guy" and " I' Not Perfect-but I 'm Perfect For You" as well as covers of Stink, Roxy Music, and Joy Division.

I checked out the JP Goude book which now goes for $130. Sadly I lent it to a friend never to be seen again. I have a few 12 inches and some have great art work

She split the riddim twins who went to work with Gwen Guthrie who you all should check out once getting passed Nothin' Going On But the Rent". Gwen did an amazing version of" (They Long To Be) Close To You."

I cannot tell ya where she is right now, but she does hang out with a certain crowd at La Côte d'Azur in between Cannes, Saint Tropez, Cap d'Antibes and Monte Carlo.  Some of her friends in there include Tina Turner, George Michael, Elton John and Diana Ross.  Tina owns a mansion in there and so does Elton...! As you can see, ..."qui se ressemble, s'assemble!

I would say "qui se ressemble, est désassemblé" in her case.
Well you know it is hard to grow old gracefully if you were she.
I thought "Slave To The Rhythm " was the beginning of the end for her.
I remember watching the episode of American Idle when ole Rhonette was on.
