Title: Need testing for my risk ?
Post by: aloka on February 20, 2012, 11:36:59 pm
I had condom protected vaginal sex twice with CSW recently,also condom protected blow job.After 5days my body started developing itchy (raised) rashes around my neck and hands,took some alergy pills,getting subsidised after 3-4 days.Now it is 2 weeks since my exposure.Now i am developing soar throat for past 2 days.In this 2 weeks i got rashes and soar throat.Now i am in unprotected sex with my wife,both of us dont have any other exposure than the above mentioned(Only from my side).
Do i need to test ? Have i put my wife also in risk ? I am planning for a baby,am i putting it also in trouble ? I dont have any other exposure than this,recently or earlier.

You were never at risk for contracting HIV.

HIV is transmitted by;
Unprotected penetrative anal and/or vaginal sex
Sharing works with other IV drug abusers
Mother to child

Nothing you have reported would have put you at risk for HIV. Condoms provide very effective protection. A blowjob would not have been a risk for HIV even without a condom.

Whatever is causing your symptoms has nothing to do with HIV. Discuss the problems with your doctor. This is definitely not an HIV situation. You have no cause for concern about HIV  in relation to having sex with your wife.

Hi Andy,many thanks for your inputs,i would like to get some input regarding my present health situation.After nearly 3 weeks of my exposure i developed severe cold and soar throat extended to throat pain even.Itchy rashes which came in just 1 week after exposure went off in another 1 week time.
I read in some of the websites that condom do not provide 100 % safety, for all safer side do i need to test for hiv after 3 months ? I dont want to put my wife also into trouble.

Aloka,

You have not had a risk for hiv infection.

Condoms have been proven to prevent hiv infection, and getting a blowjob, with or without a condom, is not a risk. There have been three long-term studies of couples where one is positive and one is negative. In the couples who used condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, but no barrier for oral activities, not one of the negative partners became infected with hiv. Not one.

If you feel unwell, see a doctor. Whatever is going on has nothing to do with hiv.

If you cannot bring yourself to believe us when we say you had no risk, go test, collect your negative result and get on with your life. You only need to test for your own peace of mind and a test at any time will be conclusive.
