I apologise............
« on: August 02, 2006, 05:38:17 am »
After some thought I decided to post an apology thread.

I am sorry if I have offended anyone here,

I am sorry for being distasteful,

I am sorry for my bad spelling,

I am sorry for having a very different political view than most of you,

I am sorry that I spent so much time here.

Thankyou Ann for being the caring person you are.

Thankyou Moffie for being the struggler you are,

Thankyou Dingoiboi for your V-Blogs,

Thankyou Cliff for Texas,

Thankyou Blondbeauty for your humour.

This is goodbye.

Arthur, this is, in fact very diva-ish! Please don't leave -- I hate it when people do. Humor me and stay for a bit and get used to the peculiar --but wonerful -- climate we have going on here.  :-* Jay
Her finely-touched spirit had still its fine issues, though they were not widely visible. Her full nature, like that river of which Cyrus broke the strength, spent itself in channels which had no great name on the earth. But the effect of her being on those around her was incalculably diffusive: for the growing good of the world is partly dependent on unhistoric acts; and that things are not so ill with you and me as they might have been, is half owing to the number who lived faithfully a hidden life, and rest in unvisited tombs.

Rion,

I don't have a clue why you are apologising to us.  We all have our views, they must all be respected, and at the very minimum; tolerated.  I see no reason for your apology nor why I should accept it, as you have done and said nothing to affect feelings of being slighted on my part.  Keep up the good fight there in Germany, and I must say, I have missed you in the recent absence, and hope that at some point you will  find us entertaining once again.

Thanks for being who you are, and for letting us in on some of your world.

In Love.
The Bible contains 6 admonishments to homosexuals,
and 362 to heterosexuals.
This doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals,
It's just that they need more supervision.

Arthur, what's with this picking up your dolls and dishes and taking off?

Personally, I can get over just about everything but the bad spelling. That is  a toughie.

But if you stick around I guess I can work on that one too.

Cheers,

How true... especially now that there's a spell checker built in!   ;)  Seriously, Rion, if I didn't restrain myself, I'd probably antagonize the same people that got their panties in a knot by your posts!  I'd most likely do it intentionally, too.  There's a lady here at work that is always in an uproar about something.  It changes daily, but you can always expect her to be bothered by something.  Sometimes, we give her something to get aggravated with... nothing mean, but just little things, like leaving a stapler in the wrong place or a folder in the wrong stack.  Often, you can tell what issues people have by how they respond to particular topics.  If you posted something anti-same sex marriage, I'd take you on about it since it's something that bothers me.  I think a lot of members have unresolved anger (at themselves and others), guilt, inadequacies, whatever.  They shouldn't thrust their issues on people by bitching about what others post, but they do.

In a round-about way, I guess what I'm saying is forget about those that you've unintentionally offended.  Don't let it bother you.  Think about Lisa's (Sdgirl) post about what do we want from the forums.  I'd add to that think about what we need from the forums.  What do you want and need?  Seek those things, try to help others, and have fun.  Who could ask for anything else?  Take care.

Perhaps at around the time film Oscars are nominated, we should have a nomination for the AIDSMED Drama Queen of the year? Or is it just the heat of summer here in this Hemisphere?

Okay okay okay, I get the point I am being a little melodramatic here. Can't help it, it's in my blood. Also the bad spelling. Perhaps diva-ish.

I guess I would miss some of you too much. I will perhaps stay but be a little more conservative about posts, polls, and what I write in the future.

Arthur,

You don't need to apologize for stating your opinions, otherwise this forum would be full of "foot-in-mouth" apology threads.  Just because people disagree, means we disagree and often these differences spark some real and meaningful discussions.  I don't accept your apology because you have done nothing wrong.  I don't want you to censure yourself, or not speak your mind, I just hope you can be a little less sensitive to constructive criticism.

I have learned many things as a result of my mistakes and to me, you only need to worry, when we stop responding to you.

Rion,

Glad you chose to stick around.  No biggie on the polls.  I actually didn't think they were so bad, (well maybe just that one),....but hey, we all post not-so-appropriate stuff every now and then.  You live and learn.  And people easily forget.

Hello Rye,

When I had read this thread this morning, I was quite disappointed, in reading that you were thinking of leaving the forums. Now, I have read you will stick around. I am real glad to read that. I like your style, and I think you have class. ;)

Dear Rion,

I do not understand why you feel the need to apologize.  You are an individual, just like the other 1607 total members today.  Individuals have opinions and when expressed... we may ruffle a few feathers but, the reality is we are all individuals and have individual opinions.  If we al in turn apologized, it may double the work space in the forums.  Besides, you are one of us.  Have the best day
