Paranoid about Hiv from Oraquick now.

So my lat possible at risk event was february 21st or 28th (not sure). .. since then I have taken multiple hiv tests ... I wore a condom all times, did not break, and only had pentrative sex for about 40 seconds no lie....

I had a full std panel and hiv blood test sent to lab at (3 weeks or 2 weeks) not sure because of when my last sex occurred on dec 21st or 28 and (55 days or 48).. everything came back negative.. so I am pretty confident I dont have a sti.. but now im paranoid about hiv..

Since then ive taken multiple oraquick tests.. most likely 8... im spending ridiculous money. I have taken my last oraquick test a couple days ago which puts me at 15 weeks or 14 weeks depending on when the last sex was i am worried about. It keeps coming back nagative but I cant shake my mind off the fact that the positive line can be so faint that it is being missed by the naked eye... I have broke the test stick countless times and pulled out the test strip to examine it under multiple lights.. now I realize that the line should be darker at 15 weeks post encounter.. but now I cant shake the fact that the oraquick test contains active hiv that could have infected me when i pulled out the test strip inside the stick to examine it.. I don't think I touched the actually result window part when it contains the antigens. I am pretty sure i touched the part where the fluids go up the stick before it comes in contact with the c and t line but idk. I dont believe the fda would allow a test otc that contains live active virus but idk.. the oraquick website said that the inside of the stick is not toxic or harmful if swallowed but then again you have stomache acid that would be destroying the hiv virus...

Hiv tests DO NOT contain hiv. Even if they did, hiv is far too fragile to remain infectious inside a test kit.

You have been repeatedly testing when you have NOT had a risk for hiv infection. You did the right thing and wore a condom for anal or vaginal intercourse - that's all you need to do.

In adults, hiv is transmitted by:

UNPROTECTED anal intercourse.
UNPROTECTED vaginal intercourse.
Sharing drug injecting equipment.

And that's it.

You are conclusively hiv negative. You do not need further hiv testing at this time.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED FURTHER HIV TESTING AT THIS TIME, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

I feel alot better, just one last thing.. at 15 weeks past incident would the T line be so faint that it can't be made out unless close observation?

I read alot that a (8-7) week lab blood test is considered conclusive by most hiv doctors.. but just wondering at 15 weeks.. would a oraquick test show a more visible line at the T section not a line soo faint that it cant be seen?

If the tests were that difficult to interpret, they wouldn't be approved for use.

You're forgetting the MAIN thing here - YOU HAVE NOT HAD A RISK FOR HIV INFECTION!

Just took my 6 month test and realized after I took the test that the bottom was open. The part of the box that is glued shut. It didn't look like it was ripped open there was no tear marks from the opposite side of the flap that gets glued shut. It looks like the glue could have just dried off and the flap just opened. The package looked unused all the packages were sealed and I even put water in the packets too make sure no holes. The test was unused and worked as it is suppose too I'm just scared that someone bought it took careful precautions t open the bottom and tamper with it. All the packages were nearly In place and looked untouched but I'm scared again. I called oraquick and they said as long as the seperate packages were nog open that it is ok. I'm so scared that I have to go a whole nother 3 months. I just tested negative out to 6 months. I think I'm suffering from obsessive compulsion.

A three month negative test is conclusive, no need to test out to 6 months .  ... you need to get on with living and stop testing over this no risk incident .
