I watched a documentary on this young man a couple of months ago, I cried and laughted all the way through it...he is an amazing young man and the message he sends out is very powerful.

No matter how much we think we are hard done by there is and always will be those who are going through much worse than we ever will.

One of the many things I took from this young man was strength, and be as happy as you can with what you have.

Oh yea, can't you see the correlation?  If he speaks at one of the most powerful and homophobic churches in Hong Kong he is clearly against homosexuality.  They must have cut out the part in this video when he was inspiring the young girls to look within to find their true beauty; what he was really trying to say was if your lesbian go out back shoot yourself.

Naw, personally speaking I tend to be an open-minded individual , I don't see how these type affiliations could be considered causal for what you say..  For all we know he may beat his wife, people with beards have a tendency to do so, and the reason I say this is because my step father had a beard.

Just to fill you in a bit - Nick Vujicic was here giving "inspirational" talks, aka recruit seminars, paid for by Evangelical Free Church of China. The head preacher - his name is So Wing-chi (or Patrick So) - of EFCC is closely linked to their counterparts like Family Research Council (James Dobson). So is the most outspoken christianist preacher in this town against homosexuality - and in a recent debate here on expanding the coverage of protection against domestic violence to gay couples he went on record saying that such laws would "pave way to the recognition of same sex relationship", thereby would give rise to more HIV cases and "increase social costs to look after", er, us.

In several sermons he added more color to his theory by saying that any laws that would help to give same sex relationship proper status would encourage young males to be homosexuals' "sex slaves".

His talks here were so popular that they gave them in stadiums - and according to EFCC thousands of those young innocent looking boys and girls who were moved to tears by him signed up.

Oi vey.  The guy is handicapped and he doesn't let that bother him.  Fantastic.  I don't think he is actually recruiting people into the homophobic army, but if he's christian and he condones that sort of behavior it's sort of a secondary thing.

in the clips of his talks, he tries to impart that people should live a more positive life, love themselves, don't limit their potential, and can improve their lives by doing whatever they put their mind too.

It's a shame that in Komnaes area, he spoke through the venue of some church, which K says has convulted ties to Dobson, and an anti-homosexual agenda. In America, Austraila and Canada (in those clips and from info in on his website), he spoke at prisons and schools.

I don't actually think he's pro-crime because he used the venue of those jails to speak , which would be the same guilt by association that K is suggesting. And yes, I did see that other link that shows that the guy does consider himself religious/christian; but not all religious people are anti-homosexual. that's just a stereotype (some gay people are even religious) and isn't supported by any anti-homosexual propoganda on his websites that I can find.

Yeah, somehow it did. I just pointed out that Nick Vujicic was hired and paid for to speak by the most homophobic church in this town, which preacher has openly linked HIV to god's wrath and how giving gays legal protection would cause most AIDS and increase "social costs". Moreover Shaun makes the point that any attempt to point out the bigotry and narrow-mindedness that characters like Zippy Nick represent is often drowned out. People only see an upbeat cripple whizzing about on his wheely board mouthing hollow platitudes and giving prefabricated "You Can Do Anything You Put Your Mind To!" speeches to halls filled with wide eyed youth.

So sure, I can see why people find this fellow inspiring. On the surface he's appears to be a great guy and worth admiration. Closer inspection, however, reveals something less attractive about him.
