Moved to Conservative State

My partner and I moved from New Jersey to Idaho. We had visited Idaho and loved it. I was in the World Trade Center on 9/11 so the move was also aimed at helping me mentally.

Unfortunately, we lost my health insurance. In New Jersey I was covered under my partner's domestic partnership benefits but since moving to Idaho his company has decided to drop me. They claim it is due to Idaho law, but it really has to do with how their policy is written. They requjire documentation from the state rather than an affadavit of domestic partnership. We are appealing their decision, but have no legal grounds.

What a culture shock it must be for you.  I hope you get the insurance thing worked out.  I really don't know how that works.

well since we are neighbors I think we are in similar states. Both have a nice big Mormon and ultra right Christian base. I am a Christian and actually am the co-chair of Integrity Idaho(the Episcopal GLBT group), so I am in no way passing judegment on anyone's religion  ;D
