« on: July 22, 2021, 04:46:34 pm »
Dear Friends,

I have covid from three days . Doctor suggests to take VitamIn- C D3(60K), MULTIVITAMIN, paracetamal-650. My issue is when I take paracetamol fever is cool down else it is repeatedly coming.

So my doctor added doxycyxlin,  ivermectin from today. Is it okay can I do something else.

Hi Bunny,

A simple search on google says that " ivermectin" Should not be used in treatment of covid. I am not familiar with doxycyxlin being used in treatment either. Unless your doctor sees another issue.

ACETAMINOPHEN, is used primarily to treat aches and pains and FEVER.

You will want to try to keep your fever down as much as possible. I think this is what the paracetamol should be accomplishing.

You need to stay hydrated, and stay home.  You should be in bed, and let your body relax as much as possible, to help fight this off, and get the healing process to begin

Bunny,

You will also need to keep in contact with your doctor. You should try to monitor you temperature frequently. Hopefully you have a home thermometer.

Bunny,..

A friend of ours that contracted Covid,  8 months ago, took Tylenol. This is what his doctor told him to take. I could not tell you what the dose was, and how often he took it.

He said it was a little tough for about 10 days, but after that, he started recovering quite quickly.

He lost his sense of smell and taste, but has since then got it back. He has fully recovered, and also got the vaccine.

Just make sure to stay in touch with your Doctor.

Hang in there !

Doxycycline is an antibiotic, maybe the doc has given that as prophylaxis to prevent a bacterial infection. It's not going to do much for COVID itself though.

Anyhow, hope you make a speedy recovery and feel better soon.

Bunny,

You need to push your doctor. Are any of the current treatments available in your country? Most are only used on patients in hospital. Monoclonal antibodies can be given in an infusion center.

The National Institute for Health (US) says that Ivermectin
"A 5-day course of IVM did not improve time to resolution of symptoms in patients with mild COVID-19."

Stay hydrated. I would recommend taking something to help break up congestion if you are coughing up stuff. Don't stay flat on your back, get up walk around to help keep your chest clear. If you have trouble breathing, get to a hospital immediately!

Bunny

Absolutely !! rest when you need to, but don't consistently lie on your back, roll over on your side and continue to roll onto your stomach, keep doing this, over and over. Get up and walk when possible.

Hello Bunny,
Perhaps u would like to get hold of an oximeter, it is helpful to trace low oxygen level (if happens) & seek medical help fast.

Hello Bunny,..

Great to hear that things are going better for you.  From a lot of interviews, that I had seen on TV, from those that had  dealt with Covid, the temperature, and fever spikes that you are experiencing, are very typical in Covid. A some time goes on, the spikes will be much less frequent, until you body temp goes back and stays at a normal temp.

Take care of yourself---Ray

Bunny,

Sorry to hear you got the Covid-19 but it's good you're feeling better now.

Is the vaccine available in your country, and if so are you allowed to get it while recovering from the covid? Sorry if my question sounds ignorant.

I do wish you a speedy recovery from it. Get well soon

In our country (India) I have taken first dose of ASTRAZENECA's version COVISHIELD on 26th June 2021, although I effected with COVID.

Thanks Friends..
