I'm male

I received oral sex without a condom from a sex worker (woman) and then we have protected (with condom) sex.

This hapened about 20 of Octomber. After this i have no sympotms at all but i was very nervus. In 6 of December i decided to have HIV1 & HIV2 test as also for all the others STD. They all came back negative. I was reading some sites on the internet about HIV symptoms and i got very nervus again. So i was cheking all the time my groin lymph nodes. Suddenly before two days i feel them that they have been a little swollen. I haven't any other sympotms at all. I want to ask you if i just irititate them and they have grown or is this the first symptom after three months. PLease answer...

You already know all of this.

There is no risk for HIV transmission from receiving a blowjob. You used a condom for intercourse, which is exactly what you are supposed to do. They provide excellent protection.

There was never any need for testing in relation to this incident so it's no surprise you tested negative.

If you have swollen lymph nodes that is something to discuss with your doctor. You maybe creating a problem yourself by squeezing, pressing and otherwise bothering them yourself. If you have swollen lymph nodes that doesn't automatically mean you have an HIV problem when there is no scientific basis for that in what you have reported.

This is not an HIV situation. Period. And just because your mind maybe telling you otherwise doesn't make it so. Really.

Thank you Andy you are really helping me aout a lot. My lymph nodes are not very swollen, i just fell them a little biger than before. Propably because i iritated them right?

And the final question. If i have been infected shouldn't i have other symptoms like feaver etc exept my lymph node? (if they are swollen, may be i m in panic and this is my imagination, they don't even heart me at all even when i m touching them.). What do you think?

Yes, by manipulating and otherwise bothering your nodes you can create a problem where none exists. They are very sensitive to touch.

If swelling persists you should discuss that with your doctor. Keep your hands off of them. No kidding.

You need to read the lesson on this site about transmission. There's a link to it in the Welcome Thread which opens this section.

Neither the presence nor the absence of symptoms is ever the way to know anything accurately about your HIV status. If you have had unsafe sex -- intercourse without a condom specifically -- then testing with an HIV test is the ONLY way to know your HIV status accurately.

But you haven't had unsafe sex or at least not in relation to what you most recently reported. So HIV is not your issue, thank goodness. Stop worrying about a problem that is only in your head. Really.

Ok sorry andy!

My question is.

I have not any symtoms and its been four months since my first question. I read the forums every day and i want to ask for the last time to see if i have understand well. Its been four months and still i m little anxius (no symptoms at all).

If you don't seroconvert or have symptoms the first three months you don't have to worry right?

You didn't have a risk to begin with but to answer your question it's NO. I didn't have symptoms at all.

I mean that if you haven't any symtoms in that period you don't have them at all (either you are positive or not) right?

Rapid sorry for the questions but if you don't have any symtoms how do you find that you are pos? Just for a typical test i believe? Sorry fot the question. I don't want to be rude.

Rapid, Ann, Andy, anyone?

Testing is the only way you can find out your status. As you seen with me, I had no symptoms, I just was having a routine physical when I was diagnosed.

Petran, neither the presence NOR the absence of symptoms is ever the way to know your HIV status if you have had a risky incident. In that circumstance only getting tested at the suggested 13 weeks will give you a reliable answer.

In your situation it's irrelevant because your incident was not in any way risky to begin with.

You can go ahead and get tested if you think you need to to do that for your own peace of mind and if that's the only way you are going to put this issue to rest.

But testing is totally unnecessary in relation to this incident. Really.

Is it possible for soemeone to seroconvert after four months? I never have any symtoms till today that my neck starts to bother me a little when i swallow. Should i start to worry? (I hadn't any sex since my first post, four months ago, so the unprotected orall is the only risk i had.)

Please answer me, wich is the symtoms of a swollen lymph node in the groin area? Does you feel only some discomfort or do you feel pain and have fever? I feel a little discomfort in my groin lymph node but without any pain or visible swolle. I can't get it over yet after 4,5 months.... I hadn't any symtomps at all but i still think about the "if i have been infected, but don't have seroconvert yet''. Any sugestions. Sorry if i bother you and waiting for your answers...

petran,

If you're worried about your lymph nodes, you need to see a doctor. Whatever is going on, it won't have anything to do with hiv as you didn't have a risk.

Go see your doctor.

thank you ann.

I know that i didn't have any risk, but my mind plays tricks on me.

One final question ann. Do you think that even i have a risk shouln't i have seroconvert till now?

Petran,

You haven't had a risk. How are you going to seroconvert? You aren't. Go see your doctor about your lymph nodes if they're worrying you. It could be anything - anything BUT hiv. You didn't have a risk.

petran,

How many times do we have to tell you that you didn't have a risk? If you don't believe us, go test and collect your negative result.

In any case, you will not be allowed to continue to come here to wring your hands over your no risk incident.

From the Welcome thread (you should have read this by now...):

Quote
Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

Please consider yourself warned.

Getting a blowjob will not result in hiv infection. You got your dick sucked - get over it.

You're just going around in circles here. You know what you've been told repeatedly here. This is not an HIV situation.

I suggest you see a therapist or other mental health professional to discuss what's driving this totally unwarranted concern on your part. Dealing with that is beyond what we can do for you here.

May i ask you something else?

You say that i don't have any risk about this episode.

Why the doctors from the body.com says that there is a very small risk?

You didn't have a risk. I agree with Andy, that it is time for you to look for some help other than this forum.
