Can infect hiv by urine or semen touch the skin?
« on: January 22, 2018, 02:30:13 am »
Hi, maybe my question is ridiculous but please answer me to get rid of my fear.

I live in South east asian country, today I walk through the small road (seems like slum). A homeless man is peeing by the sidewalk but I don't notice him until 1-2 micro drops of urine jump on my foot. (In fact, I am not sure he is peeing or masturbation, but I assume he is peeing because the water drop down between his legs is clear, no colour)

I am very worry because the urine is fresh, just come out from his body. Worse, if urine come out with some blood or semen, they will fresh too. The worst, if he not peeing but he is doing masturbation, the thing that on my foot will be semen.

By the way, I don't have any big or bleeding wound on my foot. But I afraid that virus can go through my body by little scrath, by abrasion, or scab wound, or by my nail bed.

So, you guy think I am at hiv risk?

No risk whatsoever

HIV is transmitted inside the human body as in never leaving the confides of the body as once exposed to the environment outside the body, the receptors HIV needs to infect human cells with corrode leaving it unable to infect you.

My advice is to move on with your life.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, every time, no exceptions.

Keep in mind that some sexual practices which may be described as ‘safe’ in terms of HIV transmission might still pose a risk for transmission of other STI's, so please do get fully tested regularly and at least yearly for all STI's including but not limited to HIV and test more frequently if unprotected intercourse occurs

Also note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms and the only way of knowing is by testing.

More information on HIV Basics, PEP, TaSP and Transmission can be found through the links in my signature to our POZ pages, this includes information on HIV Testing

Kind regards

Jim

Thanks so much Jim for your quick reply.
May I have last  question.
I know Hiv tranfer inside human body, I just ask for reassure, please don't blame me.

- When this scenario happened, I wear the sandal. Any fluid that came out from him touch my skin directly.
So, my risk is still zero?

"0" risk, none whatsoever.

Next to the lack of route, this is simple your foot is not inside the other persons body (Or at least not normally  ;D)

The HIV touching you foot would have first been exposed outside the body and hence not a risk, despite many myths the truth is simple, there has never been a case of transmission from day to day contact with a fluid, this is called  "Spillage" concern and with or without wounds and scrapes it makes no difference, its not a risk.

HIV simply is too fragile to transmit this way.

Jim

Thanks again Jim, By the way, I am not English native. I can't understand your message clearly. I dont mean to repeatly posting.

You mean although the HIV touch my scab wound, its not a risk because its not have an entrance way to my body, and HIV expose to the air immediately, right?

I will stop posting here,  please just answer me that my understanding is right.

Thanks in advance :)

HIV is not infectious once its exposed outside the body.
Its simple you had no risk as whatever you came into contact with you could no longer infect you.
