It's 5:30 in the morning,( Saturday), and Ed and I just woke up. We're gonna shower and shave, and we should be out of the house by 6:30.

Polls open at 7:00 am .  There are only 3 early voting locations, here in Pinellas county, Fl,...  Downtown Clearwater, Saint Petersburg, and one in mid county.

We're prepared for lines,  I will be taking my camera, possibly try to get some pics of the madness ! LOL  :o

 :P

We're back home ! We did out patriotic duty, and voted this morning. We got there, right at 7:00, and there were about 50 people ahead of us.

At 7:15, the line did not move, and the poll worker came outside to tell us that there was a glitch in the software, that was preventing the labels from printing out.

Ed and I just looked at each other and said "Crap" !!  "Here we go again".  But within a few more minutes they had the problem corrected, and the line moved right along.

We were out of there by 7:40 AM.  I didn't take any pictures at the courthouse, as there was nothing much going on.  I thought there would be a much larger turnout, but that was not the case,....

So, After we voted, ... We decided to take a drive over to Clearwater Beach.  This was about 5 minutes drive from where we voted. These pics were taken at 8:00 this morning, and the wind was whipping pretty good.  35-40 MPH. I said to Ed, " Did Sandy take a left hand turn, into Florida?  ???

These pics are on Clearwater Beach, as we were getting sand blasted !!  :o I was surprised by how strong the winds were blowing, especially since were on the Gulf.

This is a picture of my car with my Obama stickers.  I'm surprised, that no one kicked in my door, or broke the glass because of stickers:

Very nice pics Ray, thanks for sharing...

My wife and I was in Tampa this past December.  Her grandfather was about to pass and we spent one of the evenings out on that pier, just kind of reflecting over it all.

Enjoying the pics.  Reminds me I need to start looking at flights for February.  You guys take this very seriously, getting up so early.

I've been watching news of the long lines in Florida.  They said in 2000, 9 out of 10 people voted on election day.  Now, we are moving toward multi-week voting.  I always thought we needed early voting.  Many cannot take off from work, your car could break down, or have a family emergency.  Twelve hours isn't long enough, for such an important decision.  And, many states cannot accommodate so many voters on one day.

Looks nice! My partners parents live in Florida, I love going to visit them!  Imagine that, enjoying to visit the inlaws!  Florida beaches are soooo nice.

Here in Washington they did away with in person voting years ago.  Now they mail you a ballot in October and you fill it out at home and mail it back (as long as its postmarked by election day its valid).  So in essence everyone here early votes.  I mailed mine in last week.  I forgot what its like to go into a voting booth.

Great pics Ray and Ed...
We have had great weather here...
My partner went to the polls for early voting - he stood in line for 4 hours before actually getting to vote.

I plan on going on election day - right before I start my "Go Litely" colon prep.... of course, if I really wanted to add some fun to the mix, I would start my Go Litely prior to going to the polls  ;D

We have early voting here in Texas. I tried to vote on Thursday and halfway through I had to call someone over to see if I had the right ballot. We were told that since we live in a limited-use jurisdiction we would not be able to vote on all the city's bond proposals. Yet they were on my ballot anyway. They did all their double-checking and sure enough, we DO get to vote on all those. So I had to terminate my vote so I would have time to study all the props. Voting No on most of them. If I can't get married, they can't have their fucking hike-and-bike trail. I vote No on everything due to my gay agenda. If anyone starts asking about my polititcs I tell them I have a gay agenda and that pretty much shuts 'em up.

Awesome pics Ray!

We have early voting here in Texas.

Voting early in Texas is easy and convenient.

I counted, and I had a total of 57 races and propositions that I had to vote on.  57?  It made voting feel like a marathon -- I can't imagine waiting in line on Tuesday, it will be hell.

Don't worry, the City of Austin will soon go on an annexation spree in your area to scarf up the Formula 1 track, and then you'll be in the city's full-purpose (and full-tax) zone. :/

I voted "no" on them too.  If it had been just one or two bond propositions, then maybe.  But 7?  No.

Travis County, which includes the City of Austin, has 23, including 2 within a mile of my home.  No waiting!

I must have missed that little tidbit in my gay agenda handbook.  Are gays excluded from using the trails?  I'm fortunate to live in an area that has lots of trails for hiking, biking, horse riding and rollerblading and such.  We just opened up the final section of the bike trail that connects our little rural area all the way into the nearest city.

PS:  one good thing about living in an area like ours is that we never have to wait to vote.  We enter the Catholic Church right down the street, ignore the righteous, and head straight to the voting machines.

  >:(     Under this governor and legislature, that's the best they wanted to do.  But we have had early voting, in the past, and it was held in most of the county's library's.

This is why we got up early a week ago, to go early vote. To avoid the ever increasing lines. We knew this was going to happen...

Rachel Maddow covered it live, on her show Sunday night. Starting at 2:00 minutes in :
