So then got a bunch of symptoms and all of them, I am 100% sure I am infected
HaVe been stressed and anxious and panics attacks.

Feel sick and weird,

Help,

Were you top or bottom when the condom broke? It makes a difference. Either way, you need to test.

If you were the top, you are most likely to come out of this ok. I've yet to see the insertive partner (top) end up hiv positive following a condom break.

If you were the receptive (bottom) partner, you are more at risk, particularly if he came inside you.

The earliest you should test is at six weeks. The vast majority of people who have actually been infected will seroconvert and test positive by six weeks, with the average time to seroconversion being only 22 days.

A six week negative must be confirmed at the three month point, but is highly unlikely to change.

You need to know that neither symptoms nor the LACK of symptoms will ever tell you a single thing about your hiv status. Many people never have a single symptom of primary hiv infection, even though they've been infected. Many people have coincidental symptoms when they have NOT been infected. If you feel unwell, see a doctor. We will not discuss your symptoms with you here - they're meaningless when it comes to diagnosing hiv.

There are two leading causes of condom breakage.

One is not using enough - or any - water-based lube. Always make sure you're using plenty of lube.

The other is having an air bubble in the tip. When you put a condom on, you need to pinch the tip between the finger and thumb of one hand, while rolling it down with the other.

Once it's on, give it a firm stroke from tip to base, while watching the tip. If there's air in there, you'll see it. If there IS air in the tip, roll it back up and try again. Once you know there's no bubble, apply plenty of lube and go for it.

When you're bottoming, you can either watch your top to make sure he's not leaving air in the tip, or you can put it on him yourself. With a little imagination, you can make the process of putting a condom on part of your foreplay.

Make sure you read through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use them correctly and with confidence.

By the way, you also need to test for all the other, MUCH more easily transmitted STIs. You can test for these ten days to two weeks following a possible exposure, but syphilis shares a three month testing window with hiv for a conclusive negative result.

Other STIs, notably chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis, do not always have noticeable symptoms, so the ONLY way to know for sure is to test.

Good luck with your testing.

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts
