My story
« on: March 27, 2014, 07:25:32 am »
Hello every one...

First sorry for my english  ;)

I would like share my story here.
3 weeks a go I have diagnosed as HIV +
It has been shock for me,however I am 3 years in happy relation ship with my husband and we both then was sure, that he pass it to me. Anyway-he went next day after my diagnosis to be tested as well and what the surprise- his result is NEGATIVE. Well after all what we done in three years (he is the passive partner I am always active partner) when we never use any protection include lubrication... that was really weird ... so I was back in clinic and ask my DR. how one this is happen and she sad that this is not unusual case... However my last test was done when we already been in relation ship in 2012 and was negative! We are married gay couple and both take our relation ship very seriously.... So is dosnt make sense... I never chart on him... but my doctor advice ,that my HIV is genotype 'clade F1' and she asked me if I ever have transfuse of blood in asia... I sad no, but I have been vaccinate during my employment there. So there we go... Most probably ,I have been infected on that Asian clinic when they vaccinate me for yellow fever and some flue...I am starting obviously legal action... so we will see how it will goes.
Bud I have question guys on my results... 3 weeks a go my CD4 count was 487  and viral load 30.000
Yesterday come my second results after 2 weeks (!!!!!) VIRAL LOAD 86.000 AND CD4 COUNT 367  (without any symptoms exempt huge stress)
I have few questions they may sounds stupid, but I am sorry- I am very new in all this, thats why I am asking... better ask then do anything wrong-right??  :D

1. IS IT POSSIBLE HAVE IN TWO WEEKS SO DIFFERENT RESULTS?
2. MY NEXT TEST WILL BE IN NEXT TWOO WEEKS. COULD THE NUMBER CHANGE AGAIN DRAMATICALLY ON EITHER WAY?? UP OR DOWN?  OR THE PROGRESSION WILL BE JUST HIGH VIRAL LOAD AND DOWN CD4?
3. HOW COME IS PROGRESS SO FAST?? MY LAST NEGATIVE TEST WAS IN 2012 - I AM THEREFORE INFECTED MAX 2 YEARS AND THE RESULTS ARE SO BAD ALREADY???
4. IF I NEED GO TO MEDICATION THERE ARE OPTIONS FOR ME COMPLERA OR ATRIPLA... I AM FULL TIME STUDENT.- NEED TO HAVE CLEAR HEAD FOR STUDY AND GOOD SLEEP... WHAT IS BETTER??
5. THEY APPROVE HERE IN UK TIVICAY IS IT JUST SINGLE REGIME ALSO??? OR IS NEED TO BE COMBINE WITH OTHER MEDICATION?? AND IF WHICH ONE FOR TREATMENT NAIV PATIENT?? IS THAT WILL BE BEST OPTION FOR ME??

Thank you for your help!

Hope you all will have great day :)

Sorry about your news La-hir and welcome to the forums.

I understand from your Post you are receiving treatment in the UK , so there will be a range off medical people other than your clinic doctor you can access, hopefully. Check if your clinic has health advisers, treatment advisers , the name the person works under might be differant but there job is to help you evaluate your choices.

CD4 numbers in my experience jump around as yours have done , the important thing is how is your physical health now , are you physically ill at the moment ? You say no symptoms apart from huge stress ,

It may be that your uninfected CD4 numbers where naturally low therefore you started off lower. In any case 367 to 487 is not that low . Again the important thing is how is your physical health NOW.

This is early days for you, but you are receiving care at the right time and you have the time to evaluate your options for on -going treatment.

Do all you can to reduce your stress , you have done the best thing possable, you have found out you are positive at a time when treatment will benefit .

Tivicay must be taken with other HIV meds . http://www.aidsmeds.com/list.shtml

I merged your new thread into your old one that you had asked the same question in so you can keep track of all your questions and reply's on the same subject in one place .

Interesting theory on the transmission route.  Since you've made a point of bringing it up, it would be nice to follow through on more information about the science that might prove your theory, and also how the legal proceeding goes.

In this forum, there are CONSTANT "worried wells" obsessing over non-existent HIV transmission risks.  So I don't think it should be agreed, as a given, that you were indeed infected by a flu shot in "Asia".  I guess its possible. What a horrible nightmare, however.

Please do continue to provide info about your claim and what becomes of it...

Also, F1 clade is all over! Europe and South America, too...
http://www.plosone.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0042223

So why this assumption F1 means the transmission was in Asia?

At the moment your Doctor and the team he/she works in are collecting information from your blood test . That will inform there decision and then you will be able to evaluate your choices La-hir

My drug treatment knowledge is poor, if my current combo which I started 7, 8 years ago needs to change then I will educate myself.

I am what,s known as a Long term Survivor and the last combo was called a salvage combo. That meant collecting all the drugs that my resistance tests indicated might work and throwing them down my neck. There was only 2 choices do that or stop drug treatment. I was lucky , it worked so I am content to leave well alone.

Hello ,
thank you everyone for response.
Thank you a lot rally appreciate help and advice...

Well I went today with two solicitors one was big company which is specialising here in uk on employment negligence  and they open this case for me because there was already two won cases with my old employer ( one for Hepatitis infection during vaccination and there was also case in 2010 for HIV transmission during vaccination in  Germany- same company!) well they open for me the case.
Second solicitor start collecting more details evidence about my case.
I will keep you informed how this is goes by the time.

However on the treatment note... Theyr You absolutely right... I will wait for my next blood test and then we will see how my results are and after I will start think of medication...

I did buy COLOSTRUM today - apparently it is very good and support immune system functions... Did any one have experiences with this?? Good supply for 3 months... it is quiet expensive ,hope it will help.

Have a great day folks x la-hit

Interesting development reemployment La-hir.

I have no knowledge about Colostrum . I do take supplements when advised to by my Doc,s And i eat as nutrias a diet as possable avoiding processed foods .

I am off the opinion that minerals and vitamins are best sought through good diet and agree with my Doctor that the developed worlds urine contains wasted billions that could be spent on folk who are starving . Though off course I have vitamin treatment when my blood test,s indicate the need for it.

So I hope you can now realize all that can be done for now has been done and discuss with that husband off yours what would be an enjoyable thing to do this weekend.

Good luck with your employee negligence case. It was dumb of me to ask for details really, cause I guess anyone could search and see what info you provide, including their lawyers...

I hope you are feeling better soon.

'Between the single pill regimen available in UK, I advise Complera because of its effiency, it s ease of use and very few side effects. But only if your viral load before starting treatment is less than 100,000.
.i am taking Complera right now and there is no (until now) side effects.

If yiu can wait a bit, there is the novel tritherapy with Tivicay called Trii of ViiV Healthcare. It has shown better CD4 recovery and higher potency.

Don't worry, everything will be fine when yiu'll begin to accept your condition.

Hope is life.

Nothing new about Trii, other than combining 2 existing pills into one: Tivicay and Epzicom (aka Kivexa). In theory, one could start both. And then switch to Trii when available.

No actual head-to-head comparison for dolutegravir (Tivicay) vs. rilpivirine (Edurant - key piece of Complera) exists at this time. One meta-analysis suggests possible superiority to rilpivirine. The study comes from GSK, the makers of Tivicay, though.

http://natap.org/2013/EACS/EACS_30.htm

My personal opinion, but I have great reservations on starting non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NNRTI) like Complera first. Unless a person is going to be super compliant. The NNRTI class has the greatest chance for resistance (read: treatment failure).

Complera has to be taken right. Not everyone knows about the 400 calorie requirement (yes, you heard me right - 400 calories) that MUST be taken with every Complera dose. Along with other dosing requirements ...

TL;DR: Talk it over with your doctor. Then, decide what medications will work best with your lifestyle. And learn your choice of medications extremely well to take them properly.

When you say colostrum, are you talking breast milk?

Only if you call what any female mammal produces only in the first few days after giving birth "breast milk". In this case it would therefore be cow-breast milk. ;D

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

Bovine Colostrum

Thought that what it was. My kids breast fed. I do remember colostrum was supposed to be good for the immune system.

I would annoy my youngest, feed on the other one, really got him worked up.

Wife would shoot me from across the room

I used to do that to my babydaddy ex-husband - he wasn't "ex" at the time though. I'll have to ask if he felt emasculated when I did that - although I'm not so sure I should ask because if he says it was hot........ :P ;D

That's an awful lot to pay for something that will more likely than not have no effect whatsoever. After all, you're not a baby cow.
