Title: CIDP....wtf?
Post by: NycJoe on August 11, 2010, 03:46:09 pm
So I have had a variety of tests over the past month due to numbness/tingling in my left arm/face , neck and leg.  After all this I find out I have an autoimmune disease called  CIDP..or Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy.  My Dr spoke to me at length about this, he is a fantastic neurologist.  Long story short I have to take a course of IV meds over a long period of time called IVIG (Intravenous immune globulin).  He explained some of the side effects but with all this information, and it was a lot, I forgot to ask how this would affect my HIV, numbers etc.  Of course he is out of the office the rest of the week.  Has anyone ever taken this medicine?  Just wanted to know how anyone responded if so.
