Least amount of pills....

I have diabetes and taking glipizide once a day and metformin twice a day - meds related.
I have elevated Lipids and taking something for that once a day - meds related
I take celexa once a day to slow my speeding mind that keeps me up most nights without it.
I take 2 pills of Ryataz (sp) at night
I take 1 norvir at night
and I take either a combivir or retonovir twice a day.. I cant remember off hand.

Any suggestions on how to decrease my pill consumption?

20 yrs positive  - thankful to be alive.

Hi Cheryl,

Are you sure you haven't missed some meds? I haven't heard of anyone just taking Reyataz + Norvir.

Annyway, Reyataz 2x150mg can now be replaced with 1x300mg so there you can remove one pill and Norvir will soon be available in tablet form which takes less space. Switching meds to further save one or two pills isn't something I'd recommend.

Hey Cheryl,

I would bet the pills you take twice a day are Combivir. That would make your regimen complete: Reyataz, Norvir and Combivir. Combivir is a combination of Ritonavir and Epivir.

You could switch the Combivir for Truvada, which is taken once a day. That way you could take your Reyataz, Norvir and Truvada all at once.

The most obvious change would be to Atripla, which is one pill taken once a day.

All of the above would depend on any resistance factors you may have and should, of course, be discussed fully with your doctor.
