So things have not gone well.
« on: October 25, 2006, 12:58:39 pm »
It's been a week or so since I logged in here.

/insert bitchy aside/

But to work. I just responded to a PM from Andy Velez so before my arse is banned on a permanent basis I have to report some stuff to my friends here.

Because let's face it, like Andy earns his wage or Ann his self respect (coz let's face it . . . ), I respond to your emails and PM's. ;)

RESULTS FOR MATTY THE DAMNED

September 2006
CD4 Absolute: 133
CD% 12
VL > 500,000

October 2006
CD4 Absolute: 15
CD% 5
VL > they stopped counting

I restarted HAART last week. I'm taking Atazanavir, Ritonavir, 3TC, AZT and Abacavir. Also I take Bactrim, Fluconazole, lamotrigine, valproate, maxalon and endless amounts of stuff. I take 22 pills a day. Which is a quite a challenge.

Even for a no good cocksucker like me.

Today they threatened me with hospital. I resisted. I'm riddled with thrush from arsehole to breakfast time and I can't keep anything down. I''ve got vision issues in me left eye. I mean don't get me wrong, you can all whine about shit but until it happens you got no idea.

And who would of thunk it? I had a couple of epileptic seizures this weeeeeeek.

Except for Andy and Ann. They know Tim Yawn and he's been to a Conference. You should be grateful to these people.

Really, you should.

.... oh I had stuff to say here but I feel too ill. It was witty and clever.

I have missed you my friend and think of you daily. I had an uneasy feeling things were not going well with you. I wish I didn't feel so powerless...sometimes there is no sanctuary. I am sending you my email address. I cherish your friendship... remember, you can never be barred from my heart.

Love,
Hal

Matty,

I hate to hear that you are not well. I think about you often and I keep you in my prayers. Im praying that all those meds you are taking will do the trick and you will be back to your own "evil" self soon. I miss you!

My Darling...you know where I am in cyber space...as do I know where you are! You maybe half way around the world from me, but you are next to me in my heart! I know that sounds a bit emotional, but I for one love the damned!!

You are strong and my light when I am at my darkest...I hope that I may be of some use for you too!!

I love you...

Thinking of you too.

It can turn around.  I started with my CD4's @ 2%.

Plus, I can only aspire to be as dashingly grizzled and crusty as you are  ;)

"LITTLE BOXES"

Little boxes on the hill side, little boxes made of ticky tacky
Little boxes, little boxes, little boxes all the same.
There's a green one and a pink one and a blue one and a yellow one,
And they're all made out of ticky tacky, and they all look just the same.

And the people in the houses all went to university
Where they were put in boxes, little boxes, all the same.
And there's doctors and there's lawyers, and there's business executives
And they're all made out of ticky tacky and they all look just the same.

And they all play on the golf course and drink their martini dry
And they all have pretty children and the children go to school
And the children go to summer camp and then to university
Where they all get put in boxes and they all come out the same

And the boys go into business and marry and raise a family
In boxes, little boxes, little boxes all the same.
There's a green one and a pink one and and a blue one and a yellow one
And they're all made ot of ticky tacky and they all look just the same.

See here's the thing. With the exception of the above (not all of whom I care for nor even understand), you all love that which Matty the Damned has to say.

Until the MoFo says it to you. So you're gonna love this.  :-*

The first people I'd like to address are the gutless spivs who send me private messages telling me how fucking great my views are. Well, frankly your support means a whole lot of fuck all. If you think you're earning MtD approval points, you're not.

Rather than giggling vicariously through my mordent wit like some school girl deprived of her knickers why don't you dip shit losers actually learn to speak for yourselves?

I know how good I am, I don't require external validation.

Nevertheless I'm speaking to a (and I use the term loosely) largely  American audience. Over the 25 years that I've been an AIDSMEDS member (really it seems longer) I've come to understand a lot about ignorance.

So let's be ignorant, shall we? Really, it's the emergent fashion in this place of late and far be it from Matty the Damned to resist such things.

Let's ignore the fact that Jonathan stopped posting in Living With and restricted himself to answering the questions of Worried Wells in the Other Place before all of this became to much.

Let's ignore the fact that original, good members of AIDSMEDS like Lisbeth, Bucko, Newnick, Nancy and a fuckin' litany of others simply stopped posting at all. How many times have we heard members call plaintively about the fate of Skeeter, to no avail? I wouldn't respond if I was him, either.

Let's ignore the fact Goderator Ann stopped being one of us and has long since started serving the masters of Smart+Strong. And if you think I'm being a prick about this then you either weren't here when she convened the most vicious flame war against Red Ronnie because he dared to question the status-quo, or you just didn't give a shit. But of course Ann was just an undercover moderator in those days, she lacked the balls and and is an apologist for the poz.com hegemony which bores us all to death these days.

Do tell Ann, where did Jazz end and you begin?

Let's ignore the fact people like Hal, Rapid Rod, Rich et al can be timed out for having a full and frank exchange of views on whatever issue simply because it upsets light-weight wannbees such as Eric. Or even you Alex. It strikes Matty the Damned as passing strange that these people can be booted, yet tiresome bores such as KYHeteroman and his equally tedious husband Trish are allowed to carry on with impunity.

Let's ignore the fact that Cliff and others of his conservative ilk are permitted to started blatant fuckin' flame wars with no consequence. And don't tell me how many times I've been warned about my appalling behaviour before the Powers That Be were forced do something. I know how dreadful I am.

I have to live with myself.

But Matty the Damned is not above reproach himself. He prides himself on being honest, true and down the line yet he's allowed this crap to continue to nary a comment. I confess. I've been a willing dupe of Mother Staley the Meth Maiden of Manhattan (she of a thousand ghastly posters in one hundred public toilets) Goderator Ann, Velez,  and the Other One and I have the emails and the PM's to prove it whilst they provaricated over endless issues.

Hell, I even participated in some tacky farce that Ann and Andy concocted during the take over because Staley was slow in offering Velez a new contract. You guys must be hyucking it up over that one.

So save me the love and the hugs. It's not gonna do any good. What would do us all some good if the supposed members in this place actually spoke out when something gave them the shits, and I'm not talking about Kaletra. I don't buy this "we don't need to create a ruckus" thing for a moment.

Please, be the grand fucking activists you claim to be. Speak your minds.

If you can find one. I believe Joe Killfoile has one free at the moment.

Matty.  Your post reminds me of the 1980's, the anger, the health reality, etc.  Since I am new to the forums, I haven't followed your career online, but it is, strange to say if you didn't live through those years, great to hear the voice of those years again.  And it's not, please understand everyone, that I think we don't deserve the progress which the pharmacies have produced, the cocktail(s), etc.  But lost in our current situation is the very, very real situation of people like Matty, who try medications, fail at medications, deal with side effects, don't see the claims met and yet take the time and energy to remind us, lest we forget, that they are still with us and, hopefully, will continue to be with us and to voice their opinions.
Winthrop Smith has published three collections of poetry: Ghetto: From The First Five; The Weigh-In: Collected Poems; Skin Check: New York Poems.  The last was published in December 2006.  He has a work-in-progress underway titled Starting Positions.

Matty,

I'm not gonna give you a pep talk and tell you to get better or that all will be alright.

Life sucks worse than I ever feared and I'm living the high life compared to the shit you gotta go through right now.

What I find amazing is that the person on this board considered so heartless by many (including yourself) was the one who tried to talk me from the ledge.  I can't help but give a damn about you.

Trish and John from Kansas City, and anyone else who might just fit into the catagory of "tasteless self engrandizement".

You just might be witnessing the demise, Death Progression, of one of the most respected members of this site and forums.  He is struggling for the very life that he now is living.

What oh what good can come from your hateful and tasteless comments, who if you were present by his bedside, you would never make?

I am lost for words.

You two definately need to find another place to spread your very hateful shit!

This gets filed under "R" for Ranting is part of the healing process. Everyone knows bottling things up inside sucks. Good health is what we all want

The first people I'd like to address are the gutless spivs who send me private messages telling me how fucking great my views are. Well, frankly your support means a whole lot of fuck all. If you think you're earning MtD approval points, you're not.

The term for that is SYCOPHANTS .... Now everybody run to dictionary.com!! (you know you're doing it!!!) .... Good thing Matty is able to recognize the sycophants for the insincere weaklings they are. Poor, poor sycophants. They would be LOST if Matty suddenly triumphed over all obstacles.  ... All the sycophants need to stop sending PM's to Matty. They're not helping his health and he has made himself crystal clear.

Matty,

I hope you take the meds and I hope you get better.  I might not agree with you very often but I sure as hell respect the fact that you speak your mind.

Ever since the "Clique / inner circle" wars I've pretty much given up on opening my mouth here. So I can take a bit of the blame for your complaints but it just wasn't worth it anymore.

Get well.  I'd love the chance to have a drink with you one day.

Although,I have not been here long, I have come to enjoy reading MtD's post. I don't know much about him, but I have to respect him for very blunt point of views. As far as whatever the beef is, I really don't care, I think what we should be doing is combining our energies and sending them his way instead of arguing.

I hope you feel better soon..... :-*

Sky of diamonds

Running over planes of gold fields
Thru rivers and streams
From all corners of the world
From north to south,
East to west
But still we are all the same

Living in a diverse world
Filled with corruption
Divided by our own greed
Societies are but no different
From my world nor from yours

Living thousands of miles apart
But we look all the same
From within
Our cultures and color
Might be different on the outside
But how different are we
Be it in spirit

The world is the same
The skies are the same
People are the same
To me the sky is diamonds

I am new to this site and just being diagnosed a few months ago still comming to terms with myself and with hiv. Still reading some of these threads makes me wonder if it is worth even looking for advise and courage from those who have been living with hiv longer than I have imagined?

Matty, I do hope you get better.  I know I've never PM'ed you and praised your wit.  Actually, I think you come across as a prick often times, but that doesn't mean that your meaning is lost or that what you've said isn't funny.  Remember, there is a difference between cutting off one's nose and biting one's tongue.

David,  I have beaten myself up over deleting my post and honestly, I can't leave this place in such a cowardly fashion.  My post said "I am glad that you find my posts as tedious as I find yours.  For god's sake please save the third person rant for your drones."  You saw what ensued.

What I truly should have said was that I found this and the ensuing thread to help Matty name his CD4's as a slap in the face to not only those of us living with this disease, but to those who have passed.  To come in here and insult people then grandstand it with naming his CD4's only proves that he is an angry person.  His life and how he handles it is his decision.  I hate to hear of anyone letting themselves get in the predicament he has, but it was his decision.

Now I can leave here in good conscience.

Also, my comment wasn't as nasty as Lis'.  She hit way below the belt.

I was wrong, and the least I could do was admit it.

Why don't we just ask Matty to kick off so the insensitive fools here can keep hijacking his thread.  Some of you people show an appalling lack of empathy or even compassion for one of our own.  One of our dearest members is facing the loss of his life and yet some of you see nothing wrong with just abusing this post.

If that is what you consider support, then please find another forum.  And to John and Trish, I am sorry but editing your posts will never remove their intent.  I have been reading this post from the start and I know what you said and to see that you have now removed those "hateful remarks" just shows how lacking you both are in terms of character.  If you intend to sling mud, the least you can do is accept your ownership and changing your comments, depending upon how well or poorly they are received is the act of cowards.

If you insist on spewing insensitive remarks, at least have the backbone to leave your "pearls" for all to see.  But you cannot do that, because then your duplicity would be exposed, as if anyone has missed it by now.

Sorry Matty, but something tells me you will forgive me my transgression.

Joe, please go back and read post 13 from MtD himself.  I'd say he hijacked his own post.  If not hijacked it, certainly turned what had previously been a supportive thread into this odd tirade against a lot of members.

Nevertheless I'm speaking to a (and I use the term loosely) largely  American audience. Over the 25 years that I've been an AIDSMEDS member (really it seems longer) I've come to understand a lot about ignorance.

Matty the Damned
(Who thinks Eric has more to worry about than Matty's health)
/edited for typos given the quality of the audience/

So now we Americans are ignorant.  Who jumped on Eric and Alex?  Who brought Trish and John into this in the first place?

I know you're concerned about Matty (as are most of us) and upset that people are not as supportive as they would be in an normal circumstances.  There's only a certain amount of shit people will take before they say to hell with him.  Maybe that's the point; I sure don't know.  If it were me, I'd be scared shitless and who knows how I'd act.  I can only hope that I won't snap at those who offer some sort of support.

Matty is not the only one at fault here; as far as I know, he hasn't been given a time-out.  Just keep the whole situation in perspective.

I have been reading this post from the start and I know what you said and to see that you have now removed those "hateful remarks" just shows how lacking you both are in terms of character

Joe, I was going to bow out, but I couldn't help but respond to your dipshit remark.  Read the above, Mr.  "EDITED BECAUSE WHY BOTHER"

If you want, I will fill this fucking page with proof of your hypocrisy and show everyone who you really are.  If you REALLY read here you would note that I re-typed my comments.  Somehow I don't think that was on your mind.

BTW - Matty didn't deny a word I said.  Perhaps more people should speak what they feel here.

Matty,

Like I said previously, you were there for me when I needed it and I hope you can appreciate that I want to do the same in return.

I just don't know how, or what else to do, than to let you know this.

David,

I understand your sentiments, but I don't think one can hijack his own post.  I am not defending what Matty said, but I am confronting the insensitivity shown in this and other posts.  Surely you cannot defend correcting someone's use of language in such a post.  I am just tired of this insensitivy being shown by certain members, who are not held accountable for thier actions, while others who commit similiar offenses are timed-out.  Yet it keeps happening and I have to wonder why, but not today.

John,

I absolutely defy you to carry out your impossible threat of showing me as a hypocrite.  I will wait for that post, but not holding my breath, because it can not be done.  At least when I stick my foot in my mouth, I leave it there for all to see.  And surely you are not suggesting that either yours or Trishs' edited posts in that thread, were what you initially posted.  Why are you so unable to take responsbility for your actions?  With you two it seems to be all about smoke and mirrors.

But I have contributed to the hijack of this thread and for that I apologize.  I will not comment about this again in this thread.

This is not directed at you personally Kill (didn't catch your name before I hit reply).

I'm going to walk right out to the edge of this limb here..

I don't know what went on between Lis, John, and Trish, and I really don't care to know. That's apparantly a matter between them.

But as far as insensitivity goes, Matty is probably one of the worst offenders here. In many posts he has insulted more than one member personally, for no real reason, while at the same time being his witty little self. I (and I'm sure a few others here, especially the newer members) cannot possibly imagine how he has become known as one of the most respected members here.

This is my opinion, and is not an attack on any other members feelings about Matty.

I wish him well because he is another human being on this planet, and a member of this forum. Certainly not out of respect for him as a person.

Dear All,

Others have been given time outs before this. They aren't usually announced in the way I did about the one for Lis. And I did that specifically in the hope of it serving as a warning to halt the sniping.

The intention was to prevent more of  the kind of increasingly venomous exchanges such as John and Killfoile have now added to this thread. Guys, it's very clear and it has been for a long while how you feel about each other. Disagreements are one thing. Back and forth attacks are quite another.

Stop for a moment and think. Is there anything that benefits you or anyone who comes to these pages by more of the same? I think not. What these exchanges come across as are an unwillingness to let the other "win" by having the last word. As far as I am concerned it's a lose-lose situation when you get into this, for all concerned including other members.

So guys, give it a rest, and yes, consider this a warning.

Matty's insensitivty on these forums, since I've been a member, are what make it hard for me to show empathy toward him.  How does one respect another when they consistently throw vile comments aimed specifically at hurting others?  He's done it more times than anyone and I too cannot fathom how he has become one of the most respected members on these forums.  ???

There was time when I admired Matty, but I just can't seem to bring myself to that place again.  I've watched him time & time again hurt others purposely and I just can't respect that, really I cannot.

I also find his little episode of naming his CD4's a disgrace.  Humorous?  Sorry, not in my eyes.  And I truly don't understand those who obiged his sick display of disrespect to all those who have succumbed to AIDS, as well as US, who are struggling to live with it now.  I just don't get it.

My brother had 2 tumors in his head last year. One in his brain and one behind his left sinus. He named them. I don't think he was showing any disrespect to cancer patients living or who had died from cancer. It was one way he was dealing with his cancer, with a little humor.

Bingo...what Teresa said. What I don't get is why some people keep returning to rehash the topic of Matty.The.Damned. Truth be told, I think it is just a bad case of the green-eyed monsters.

I have seen Aidsmeds members wish other members dead, call each other every name in the book, threaten to quit the forums, threaten suicide, threaten to reveal private pm's, you name we have seen and done it.

Get your hearts off your thin-skinned sleeves people...scratch the surface and we all are pretty much coming from the same place...quilt,pain,drug addiction, alcoholism, sex addiction,self-esteem issues, medical issues, homophobia, racism, sexism, topped with a big ol' dollop of anger on what I like to call a HIV sundae that is certainly topped with lots of nuts.

Why people make what someone types all about them is beyond me. The emotional posting of a forum member (even if they use your name) really has nothing to do with or about you. Though I guess if something stings a bit personally it might have a modicum of truth to it. Frankly, I think the release of the rage that many of us feel is at times actually quite healthy...and forum members should be excused for it. Or at least understood. We can post all the methods we want for finding happiness but if you can't release the anger, that Hallmark moment ain't going anywhere.

So relax... bottom line what anyone posts really ain't about you, no matter how much we would like it to be. One more thing...gallows humor is a major coping device when dealing with death...always has been, always will be.

Peace

I've watched him time & time again hurt others purposely and I just can't respect that, really I cannot.

If you don't want to respect a "whole person", you can isolate aspects of a person and respect those aspects. Matty is open about his health. He doesn't paint a false picture of himself as a healthy superman and I respect honesty. (He's also shared many of his life experiences with different medicines for various conditions)

Consider this: I have a friend-- a messy, acerbic, abrasive bitchqueen by any measure - But when he was 15 years old he saved a drowning toddler who fell into a swimming pool. He said diving into that pool was automatic without hesitation and the rush to action was clear and came from within. I had nothing but respect for that. You don't have to respect someone 100 PERCENT, but you should know that "little seeds" of truth often grow into that beautiful word we call respect. Finding the little seeds takes effort, and if you really truly can't be bothered, simply press the ignore button. I prefer finding the little seeds instead of the ignore button.

As far as comments and reacting, read what Moffie and Dachshund said. Anyone can say anything to me or about me. I know who I am.

Trish I need to ask that if all that is true - then what has been your point of multiple posts on this thread?  I have no issue with anyone who doesn't like Matty, but I seriously see no point of you particiapting in a thread by Matty, about Matty and for Matty, if that is your take.

Just put him and others you do not like on ignore.

Matty's still around, he just has to see a lot of doctors at the moment and so is away for days at a time. I'll have more results sometime next week. Given that I've restarted HAART (about two weeks back now) they should be interesting.

Did this thread go off topic? Not really. There are two themes here. My really bad AIDS numbers at the moment and my growing sense of irritation with the what I consider to be the appalling way in which the moderators administer these forums.

And I mean all the moderators. Ann, Velez, Staley and the Other One. And before people go getting all het up and scrambling over the barricades to condemn me for dissin' the powers that be I'm just saying what I think. Andy Velez has often encouraged me in to "vent and rant" in the past. In fact I've often noticed him advise people to "post and be damned".

Betcha not runnin' that line quite so much these days, eh Andy?

For those who've been around AIDSMEDS for a while will be familiar with my particular style. I've never claimed to be an especially compassionate or sympathetic person. I have limited reserves of empathy and you've gotta be pretty special before I'm gonna gush and carry on and hold your sweaty little hand.

Frankly I couldn't give a rat's arse about most of you. There are of course a select core of people here for whom I care deeply and would do anything. But they know who they are.

Similarly, I've never asked for compassion or sympathy in return. I just tell you how things are, what I'm doing and why I'm doing it. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I don't require external validation. My purposes and reasons for posting are my own and most likely the result of narcissistic personality disorder.

But ya know, whatever. ;)

So Iggy and company are right. If you don't like me, what I say or how I say it -- then whack the ignore button. Or do like Eric and frantically click the "Rat this post out the Goderators" button. If it's that bad, why bother reading the damn thread at all?

I mean, like I pointed out to someone once before, even Internet Explorer has a back button.

But none of you will, especially not my detractors. You love me. The little frisson of outraged joy you get when I post is soooooo addictive. Go on, admit it. When you see my name next to a post you all pee in your pants, just a little bit. Threads like these are what AIDSMEDS have always been about. The opportunity to get down and pull hair.

You know it makes sense.

Perhaps if you (maybe, I don't know your recreational status) and KY laid off the pot, all the while claiming to be morally superior for the 'kids', you'd understand.  Gee KY, when are you gonna tell your kids you are a pot-head?  That's really setting a good example.

Your hypocrisy amazes me.

And yes, this post is to add flame to the fire, because as long as you two post crap like this (and then delete it), it is deserved.

Dingo has spoken... who frankly doesn't care much for the topic poster but at least can wish him well, unlike others who just need to post publically to make sure everybody knows they are total assholes.  You two are a match made and 'deserve' each other.

I wish you both well, and hope you both stay away from here in the future.

edit to add:  I fully support lis in her comments, whether they are perceived as true or not, because to me, they are quite accurate.  Lis, that was well worth a 2 day time-out.

Even in the case of individuals, there is no possibility to feel happiness through anger. If in a difficult situation one becomes disturbed internally, overwhelmed by mental discomfort, then external things will not help at all.

However, if despite external difficulties or problems, internally one’s attitude is of love, warmth, and kindheartedness, then problems can be faced and accepted.

For those who do not understand what Trish just said, I felt compelled to write this particular post.  I am not angry at Trish, as this is her view, no matter that it is very illinformed.

In the very beginning, when actual counting of CD4 cells became a scientific possibility; it became a tradition of those with falling CD4s to name them. Usually this happened after falling below a CD4 level of 20.  After all, it isn't easy when you are failing to keep track of more than 20 names.

Back in the day, lavish and expensive dinners and parties were concocted to host such naming traditions.  Friends and relatives would show up to help the person with the declining numbers to assign totally approprate names for the particular person involved.  In carrying on this incredible tradition; Matty has invited us to the party, and for that, we should all be grateful that he felt led to invite all of us.  I didn't participate in the naming, as only one came to mind and Mark/aztecan got that one for me....... Lucifer!

Why some of you are rattling the party is not understandable to me particularly, but then you might not have known about this very humorous and mentally healthy way to deal with a, many times, hopeless situation.  You see, back then, the whole bunch that attendded such celebrations were also well aware that their friend would be checking out within the next four to six months.  This was their way of honoring and supporting a friend, and through this silly exercise; also showed their concern that HUMOR be the enlightening spark that might lead to maybe a month longer life.

So, Take it from this survivor; I went to many, witnessed it with my own eyes, mind and heart, and once even did it as Rula Lenska, with the long RED hair and the full length red evening gown...  So there, I said it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you don't understand this long standing tradition; please keep your fingers to yourself, and learn a bit of history that Matty has so very generously chosen to share with some of his friends.

(edited because I forgot she never had blond hair, and it took weeks to find the appropriate RED wig.  Unfortunately, age blurrs the memory  >:( )

The Bible contains 6 admonishments to homosexuals,
and 362 to heterosexuals.
This doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals,
It's just that they need more supervision.

Andy,

I hear you loud and clear.  Apparently others on this forum can make hateful posts, that are read by us all and even when their duplicity is found out and they then edit or just blank our the offending posts, then everything is fine.  But if some sap like me then calls them on such behavior, like this has NEVER happened before, in regards to them, then I get a warning of a time out???

It's clear that this forum no longer supports real discussion or even dissent and the fact that you allow this to continue really concerns me.  But what do I know.  So I will be a good boy and not make any more waves.  Nor probably any more posts.

Joe, this is ridiculous.  I don't want to get into this whole brawl by any means but I'm tired of people getting their undies in a bundle and heading for the hills.  We're all human, it's the nature to feel things are unfair from time to time and to fight, but come on.  What sort of good will your leaving or not posting do for anyone?  Do you think everyone will take notice and suddenly change?  This has definitely swayed my opinion to realize the childishness of BOTH sides.

Sorry for the rant and hijack.  I am unseasonably pissy today.  Please carry on.

Both sides? There are only two sides to a Matty the Damned thread? I never would have taken you for being so narrow . .  .

what is your name again?

If this thread is so childish one is forced to wonder why you lower yourself to commenting at all.

It's all carryover from the AMG.

MSPud,

No matter what you think, my comments here have nothing to do with any feud or AMG, it has to do with the posts that were made (in this very thread) and then deleted, once the authors realized that they had stepped WAY across the line of decency.  If you notice, I am not asking for anything more than parity in how the forums are moderated and the fact is that some members can post absolute hatred, then edit it and go their merry way... until the next time.  They have done this in repeated threads and yet everyone is called on it EXCEPT THEM.

Lis gets a time out because she just cannot stand the duplicity of these people, but they get nothing.  When they got together, Lis was the unfortunate one who stated what many of us were thinking and merely warned one of them that the other admitted to being at least bi- if not gay and to be careful.  Sounds pretty reasonable to me, but they jumped on her like white on rice.  She became a Pariah in their eyes and they have never dropped the issue, merely because she expressed an opinion.  That fallout is one of the reasons that Lis did not attend AMG this year, as she did not want to risk any altercations nor detract from the gathering.  Nice huh???

So I strongly disagree with your comments, because you do not know the background.  What I find most disappointing however is the fact that you would rather rant at me, than confront them on their awful behavior.  Trust me, I am not reacting to them per se, as I am to the Moderators who seem to be increasing their censorship and stifling discussion.  I believe their actions warrant some action but I do no make the rules.  I can only speak for myself and if I do not feel comfortable posting here any more, then that is my choice.  I see these forums as an interactive process, yet this duo seems to infect far too many posts and that has greatly diminished my enjoyment of these forums.  Now I can not even point out such behavior, without the threat of a time out.

That is my issue and I would appreciate it if you would check your facts before you just slam me for stating my opinion.  At least if you want to slam me, do it for something I said and not for what you believe are the facts.

If the old school stops with their wisdom, then we lose out on a TON of information that is in our best intrest to have... I wish sometimes that Peter, Andy, and Tim, would write about how hard they PUSHED the limit to get all of us even meds!!!

It's really a shame that people have to post their bile and then delete it.  My choice for parents of the year.  They have claimed to be leaving these forums for soooooo many weeks now, why can't they just do it?  Because in their asshole existence they just love to see themselves in print.  Well, your "friends" can probably now be counted on two fingers; one for each of you, and I assume you can guess which ones I mean.  Leave already!  You are cretins.  It seems I haven't missed one damned thing by not being on here in a while.  Those in KC can threaten and then deny it.  Too bad some of it may have been cut and pasted and saved...they can be forwarded to the FBI if need be.  So, just lie your little hearts out.

DavidNC, I don't know if you are running for the Mother Teresa Award yourself, but it does get a little tiring.  Haven't missed any one of you one damned bit (except you, of course, Jan and our REAL friends that we can chat with by email).  Support is something that ya'll seem to give to yourselves.

Matty, your numbers ARE unfortunate, I can relate.  Just for the hell of it, check out www.ldninfo.net and see what you think.

As far as I can see, MOST OF YOU can use grammar lessons, so I wouldn't be the one going there...

Geez, I hope you ALL go to the next AMG and sing Kumbuya and then go off and shiv each other in your backs!  What goes around...

Personally, I miss darling Jonathan.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm only interested in sharing info about neuropathy with those who share and care enough to read.  The rest of you, well...

Hey MS,

I got your meaning and appreciate your viewpoint.  I'm just tired of the toxic waste around here and so I suppose we are both having a pissing bad day.  I have no intention of being run off from any place that I consider precious.  I am, however, becoming very concerned about the rules around here and how they are applied but I seem to be one of the few, so I bow to the majority.

This new atmosphere will not affect my opinions or observations, just my decision on whether I share them.

To me, this whole discussion has become moot, because it seems that nobody cares other than me.

No, I don't think I can come close to comparing to Mother Teresa, but thanks for noticing.

However, I thought you left a LONG time ago after the last time your kilt got knotted up.  It was around the time you said you destroyed your AMG shirt.  If we were to use tiring to describe somebody, it would certainly not be in reference to me.

Sorry Matty, probably the meds from my surgery.  Try this link: www.lowdosenaltrexone.org.  Crikey, the drugs are better than I thought!  Don't know why I thought it was .net.  But, even my doc hadn't heard of this, even tho it's been around for decades and used to used to treat heroin addicts.  This affects a certain part of the brain...oh, hell-just read it.  We're going to try it cuz I need my CD4s to creep back up there again, too.

David, after reading all the things you've said in the past, I won't even respond except to say that a kilt never gets knotted up.

Dear Matty,

i know that you have not forgotten me, but i was also disappeared. i had told the reasons a bit. and now i am trying to follow again.
And hearing your health in this situation, i felt really worried. somehow i can not imagine what kind of difficulties you are going through...
But i also can not understand how people can be so unnice to you at this moment when you really need some support.

i couldn't read everything which are posted here, as people stopped talking about your situation but began individual chats.
But i will download SKYPE. and i will try to add you if i can manage...

and if i can catch you online, i will be more than happy.

I'd like think a LOT of behavior could be blamed on drugs instead on anything else.  I think if you'll actually read all the things I've said in the past  (... All of 'em?  Amazing!  Did you read all the things on the old AidsMeds site too), you'll probably find good reason to not respond; I'm generally fairly polite, supportive, and helpful.  If it's not a kilt, then SOMETHING is knotted up!   ;)

Time outs can be good.

Danny,

I just wanted to thank you for referencing me in your last post and labeling my battle and all others with mental health issues as being crazy.  I am so happy that you do not have to live the daily hell that I do because I suffer from mental illness.  How easy it must be for you to navigate through life, firmly in control of yourself, while crazies like me must rely on medications, psychiatrists and therapists to even get through the day.  To know that everything you say and do must be right, because, hey, you are not crazy.

For me however, life is very different and I am very deliberate on what I post, because I know that my brain does not always work as it should.  I spend months changing medications to keep the darkness at bay.  I have a wonderful husband, shrink and therapist, without whom, I would have surely perished by now.  Yet, I plod on the best that I can, realizing my challenges and attempting to live a normal life.

Or at least as normal of a life that a crazy person can live.

Cannot be done?  Hmmmm... interestingly enough, IT CAN BE DONE!!!

For your perusal Joe...

a couple of tidbits I found from August & October of this year.  Unfortunately the old forums are gone, but I'm certain you did it there too.

Trish --

This has got to stop!

Ever since you -- and John -- returned from Toronto, the value of your participation in the Forums has been... shall we say... questionable.

We get it... you and John were uncomfortable, to say the least, in Toronto... but why are you insisting on turning your distaste into a protracted war in the Forums?  Okay, so you received some pretty harsh responses to your initial grievances, but the fact is that you didn't exactly express many of them with tact.  Surely you must have known that your thoughts (or, more precisely, the way you expressed them) -- and finger pointing -- weren't going to be received kindly by others in attendance.

You've sent various PMs to the moderators, indicating that you and John have been so mercilessly wronged in the Forums, yet you have taken ZERO responsibility for not only starting flame wars... but perpetuating them to no end.  In fact, this is the ONLY thing I've seen you doing over the past three months.

If these Forums truly are an endless source of angst and frustration for you, I suggest that you leave them for your own sake.  NOBODY'S going to get the last word in here... not you, not Lis, not Joe... not anybody... all you're doing is keeping this vicious cycle going... and we're totally sick of it.

Now you have a nice week-long time out to think things through.  Enjoy.

Well Hallelujah at long last; it would've appeared to have been a whole lot fairer if it had happenned at the same time as Lis' >:(. Kilfoile I'm entirely with you on this one and Lis, I think you only said what me and a lot of others were thinking.

Matty what can I say? I don't know you, but I feel empathy, both with you and others on this site. I was sad to read about your numbers and associated health problems and hope that the meds will come to the rescue without too many averse effects.

Once again one of your threads has become compulsive reading.

Wish you the best, John. ;)

Danny,

I am in need of no sympathy, because I do not go around disparaging an entire group of people with mental illness.  Your lack of empathy is disgusting, but not unexpected as your masters have trained you well.  Why don't you scoot over to their new love fest (www.aids2hiv.com) and spread your toxic waste there.

Leave this site for the sober adults as you have nothing constructive to provide here.

In the end Danny, we will never share the same view of the world, because I am afraid that there is simply not enough room up your ass for both of our heads together.

Hey Lis,

You are RIGHT, be grateful for what you have. There are so many others who are in a worst off situation.

Hey Danny,

Before you decide to talk about someone else, you should take a good look inside of you first. Accept what is inside of you, understand what is inside of you, and change the things that you can inside of you.

Attacking others will not resolve the problem(s) that exists within you.

Now what was this thread about?...oh yeah, the Poo's impending death. I will start a poll later handicapping his odds and we will soon see how everyone makes that about themselves.

I think even the Poomeister would agree that it is all becoming so tedious...and it is all soooo not about you.

Now c'mon people...we got a war to lose, pedophiles to elect next week, and a planet to destroy. Matty's already done his part...can I count on you?

Tim,

We need to clarify a few things here.  The Various PM’s that Trish sent to the Moderators.  One to each of you moderators after Lis called her a Hooker, if I am not correct, resulted in a timeout for Lis.  Were there other PM's?  That little dick Steve called her a scrag and me a manpussy.  Manpussy?  How much do we take?

Trish’s last post (which was well worth it BTW) here was but a rebuttal to Joe’s challenge (which by the way was proof, IF I AM NOT CORRECT of his idiotic and clearly hypocritical statements).   If I recall, Matty didn’t have a damn thing to do with Montreal (other than inflammatory posts), so what bearing does that have on this thread?  The fact that we stated our opinions about the coveted AMG and were trounced by the worshippers for doing that, AND I might add, were labeled as homophobes (of which I challenge any reader here to back that up).  It wasn’t until we were backed into a corner that we came out fighting.  Wouldn’t you? We have been followed around since then by vultures of the likes of  the literary geniuses Lis, Bailey (who speaks), and Steve, and Matty himself who asks me to tell him again how I got infected.  Got news for ya, Mtd and anyone else here, I never told you in the first place.

I have made posts since then that called people out because frankly, both IN Montreal, and ensuing threads revealed their hypocrisy in true blue.  People can build their own image as they wish, but they should back it up.  That isn’t a prerequisite here.

With this Smart and Strong deal, you have created a city. In cities, there are gangs.  That is what has happened to this place.  Fine with me, but you guys are looking for damage control far beyond what you are capable of.  Trish and I are gone but your troubles are not.

Okay, as far as Lis and Baily, I would say that between the two of you, you carry a cumulative IQ of a toaster oven.  Enough said.  Little Steve, get yourself a step ladder, and Matty, no matter how big of an asshole you are, I don’t wish death on anybody, but this has always been within your control.  If you choose to let yourself die, then do it with dignity.

As far as I am concerned, a week isn’t a good enough time out for my ass, so exercise your option Tim.

I've locked this thread and we've issued additional time outs to Lis, DancerBoy, Killfoile, and KCMetroman.

I can't believe that this is what it has come to.  Either we completely turn our backs -- which I don't think anyone wants us to do -- or really start cracking down on ALL those who keep the battles going in the Forums.

We have those who instigate and those who react.  What's really frustrating is that the lines seperating the two have become incredibly blurred.  And with the alliances that have been formed, along with all the finger pointing among various individuals, it is almost impossible to see things with different degrees of guilt.  And because we're now at this point, 48 hour time outs, following by seven-day time outs, followed by full bans will be meted out to any perpetuating flame wars in any of the AIDSmeds.com Forums.

This really sucks.
