Genvoya question
« on: August 01, 2016, 06:14:24 pm »
Is anyone on this?  I started taking it almost two weeks ago and recently broke out in a really bad rash.  I didn't see anything about a rash in side effects.  Has this happened to anyone else?

Hey NY,
I've been on Genvoya since November and have had no noticeable side affects.
Everyone is different some have absolutly no side affects and some do, bottom line is make sure your doctor is aware of it .

I have been on the medication for about 3 months now.  I do have some itching and rash on the tops of my arms (I find strange) only.  I contribute the itching to antibiotics that I am taking but unsure if that is the cause until I get to stop the antibiotics.

CD4 50
Awaiting VL
Started Genvoya and Septrim  9th Aug 2016

Quite simply i have a fiery rash on both feet that hates socks and doesn`t make sleeping easy.Have been using Pseudocream and savlon interchangeably which stops the burning a little.
The Nurse did say that a rash was possible with Septrim and usually around the 10 day mark.It just seems strange that it is so exclusive to the feet.
Has anyone had a similar problem ?

Hi

A rash really is something that needs to be checked by the GP/Doc.

Antibiotics in general give me a rash, Septrim was no exception and so I had to take half dose antihistamines to control the rashes, again its something that needs to be checked, because a rash could be anything or nothing.

Jim.

Hi,
I also developed a nasty rash over my entire body from Bactrim many years ago. I was in the hospital being treated for PCP and it was being administered by IV, thus maybe the extreme reaction.  As Jim said I would have it checked with my doctor .
