Saw this notice today.

I am sure these lovely flats will be "mere blocks" from Ms. P's awesome abode.

 :) :)

1) I'm sure I made a thread about this a year or two ago when it was announced

2) It's not mere blocks away, but could feasibly walk there in 20 minutes -- it's maybe 15 blocks or a mile away directly north; or two subway stops

3) for street view on google maps search for 257 South 13th Street, Philadelphia, PA

4) It's conveniently located around the corner from my HIV clinic, the LGBT community center, and Club Body Center bath house.

5) I would totally move in there if I was older

You should probably get on the waiting list - and they probably do have one - as soon as you are eligible.

There are various senior "sheltered housing" places here on the Rock. (Sheltered housing is when you have your own separate apartment or bungalow, but you have means of direct communication with health care staff should something go wrong, and people are looked in on by a community nurse/nurse's aide once a day, once every few days or once a week, depending on need.)

Anyway, there are waiting lists for these places and IIRC, you can sign up once you're over 50 as it can take quite a few years to move up the list. Demand for places is high, but turnover is steady due to the nature of the scheme.

I should definitely look into this. It would be nice not live in a fourth floor walk up when I have such issues with my feet :) Ah, life with an elevator!

There also this place going up mere blocks away but I would have to tolerate living with heterosexuals and that just wouldn't be fittin'!

You should put your name down, just think of the money you could make, Gourmet Meals on Wheels for all those over 50 Hetero's who hate cooking, not to mention the interior decorating you could do, cos you just know all us old Hetero's know that's what you Gays love to do...go for it Miss P you'll have a blast.

Now that I have HIV-related arthritis and use a "granny cart" to go to the supermarket they really should immediately approve me to move into this place!

I forgot to mention that the other plus about the location is that all of the meth-zombie male hustlers are a (mere) block away.

You'll notice in the advert for the LGBT apartments there is a strapping young man running outside.  Since this is a gayborhood, I wonder if apartment residents will  receive schedules of such select eye candy scenes with their welcome packets (e.g., the sparse top wearing BB joggers come by Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 8:00am).

 :D ;D 8) :P  :o :-*  :'(

You're 47? You really will be a sight to behold in 20 years. I suppose you will just forego the cart and have people carry your limp drooling body around.

So speaks that guy that's been on HIV meds for five minutes and already has no kidney function or sperm production, and is incapable of falling asleep without a handful of sleeping pills.
