Recieved unprotected oral - please bare with me
« on: October 28, 2017, 05:03:32 am »
Sorry if I'm wasting people's time or am barking up the wrong tree. I know the risk from reciving oral is extremely low or some would say no risk but this forum is the only one I have found which I can put down my fears.

My low risk exposure was 5 weeks ago. In that time I haven't suffered any fever or rash.

Week 4 you could say I got a bothered throat. I wouldn't call it sore it's more scratchy if anything and times I feel the need to swallow saliva.

I think after week 4 a lymphnode on the left side of my groin got larger but it's soft and it's movable so maybe always like that.

Yesterday I noticed a tiny red mark in the side of by abdomen region or just above my hip bone which is really painful underneath. I assume this is swollen tender lymph node.

I get other things like shooting pains (or maybe dull ache) in my arm and fingers sometime and the palms of my hands sometimes feel like tingling maybe.

I know anxiety can cause things and I understand I may not of been at risk at all so do forgive for me posting.

Thank you

You simply had no risk.

Getting your penis sucked (or vagina if you are a woman) is not a HIV risk, saliva is not infectious, it also contains over a dozen elements that neutralize HIV.

Let me put it this way after nearly 40 years in terms of BJ's there hasn’t been a single documented case of HIV transmission to an insertive partner (the person being "sucked") and you will not be the worlds first.

You symptoms are not related to HIV from this incident, move on with your life.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, every time, no exceptions.

Keep in mind that some sexual practices which may be described as ‘safe’ in terms of HIV transmission might still pose a risk for transmission of other STI's, so please do get fully tested regularly and at least yearly for all STI's including but not limited to HIV and test more frequently if unprotected intercourse occurs

Also note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms and the only way of knowing is by testing.

More information on HIV Basics, PEP, TaSP and Transmission can be found through the links in my signature to our POZ pages, this includes information on HIV Testing

Kind regards

Jim

Apologies for bringing this up again. Just thought this wouldn't be helpful for those who worry because of symptoms.

Even after jimdublins response to my initial query I couldn't shake the possibility of contracting hiv from receiving oral sex.

This has seen me notice lymphnodes, my tongue being white, ulcers appearing in my mouth, me checking my body for any rashes constantly and  just being worried at any kind of muscle pain in my body.

Nearly 8 weeks after the incident I went to a gum clinic for a full STI checkup and have had the results today which all came back clear.

Lesson learned and my advice to anyone is don't Google hiv symptoms as you only are likely to cause unnecessary anxiety. Assess the risk and and go from there.

Glad you are okay and feeling better I trust. This is very true BTW.

Take it easy

Insertive Anal - Condom Broke
« Reply #4 on: September 05, 2018, 05:59:08 am »
Extremely worried here.

I topped and noticed after pulling out after about 1 min of anal the condom broke.

Other person says they are on prep and most recent test 7 days prior was negative but I'm extremely worried.

It's been 12 days post possible exposure. I know symptoms are not everything but my throat has what one could describe as strep. White patches back of mouth.

Is 12 days ok to be tested?

Hiya,

Look you had a risk and so, if you are concerned than test at 6 weeks and again for a conclusive result at 3 months post exposure with an approved HIV antibodies test.

If what you posted was your only exposure than I expect you will be fine, just test to confirm that and for peace of mind. Try not to overthink or worry about things in the meantime and, live your life as normal.
