I'm Going Through Puberty Again.

I'm certain it's from the Testosterone Injections but I am getting alot of pubescent side effects, the worst of which is the acne developing on my forehead. There are little bumps all over my forehead and it's driving me crazy. My friend says he cannot see them but I can and it is disgusting. My forehead is also oily and it never was before. I wash my face day and night to no avail, it just seems to make it more oily. This will seriously impact my dating scene (oh , nevermind I dont have a dating scene)

*gross alert* - The weird thing is that there is nothing inside of the pimples as I've tried to do the 'ol squeeze-a-roo.

Can any one recommend a face wash or whatever to help these things go away, something other than Clearasil?? I havent had Pimplies in 25 years and dont know what the newest and greatest remedy is. I want to nip it before it get's worse and i have to become a shut-in (yes, I've been known to be a bit vain)

Neosporin ointment has always worked for me when I had acne issues...maybe you'll get the same mileage. I just put a little on the area at night before bed and it's usually gone by morning.

Of course, if you're getting urges to pull on a little girl's pigtails, that's another thing...

The "area" is my whole forehead. Do I just slather the whole forehead with Neo or dot each little bump individually, (which would take awhile, as there are many)?

Try Neutrogena Rapid Clear treatment pads.  I had a big zit on my butt and this made it go away in about a week.

Willy dear, if it gets too bad, talk to a dermatologist.  Sometimes, if warranted, they can give prescription intervention.  A female friend of mine gets acne from hormone injections, and her derm. prescribes her a cream.  I believe it's retinol, but I'm not 100% certain.  Something worth checking into, though, if it's bothering you that bad.  Of course, you could have made it sound worse than it actually is, but I totally get your vainness.

Thanks EZ, Hope and Betty, I will incorporate all yalls suggestions and start with the Neosporin (just happen to ahve some in the medicine cabinet), then go to the neutrogena, and if that doesnt work go see my Derm, whom I need to see anyways for a white spot on my arm.

My ex was 24 when he enlisted in the Marines (I was already on active duty) so the other recruits in his platoon looked up to him during bootcamp. That being the case, the poor lad believed what he told him about acne and "natural remedies" that existed.


You know what, too, you might check into an antibacterial soap (like Dial). I remember a PT recommending that once for acne issues back when I used the gym

Hey Will,

Stephen gets the same reaction from his testosterone and he has been using Fucidin Cream. It is Fusidic acid cream 2% and a topical antibiotic. It works very well. You may also want to consider reducing your test level a little to see if that helps.

You could try making a paste with water and baking soda. Baking soda is awesome!

I would see a dermatologist and have the exact reaction you are having diagnosed.
Also dermatologists have a number of miracle creams by prescription. Dont waste your time and skin and personal embarrassment on all these home remedies, until at least you get a diagnosis. There are all kinds of acne and also other things that look like acne, which are not. This is why god created specialist doctors.

I also got a few pimples with the injections and even one with the implants.
Luckily they all pop easily.
Those are not the only things to pop, my libido popped up also!
Have fun and don't stress over a few pimples induced by testosterone.
(this is just my opinion which probably means nothing)

Wrong, you're supposed to mix the borax and the feces together to form a paste, then apply to forehead.  If he does it the way you said it won't exfoliate properly.

this may sound horrible, and I havent the nerve to try myself. But my mom is a nurse, and in school they told her the best acne treatment is your own urine. 

I've used pro active myself though and it works. its just pricey   (I have a mountain of testorone in my body and almost nooo estrogen or progestrene.)

The bumps have mostly gone away, but appear within a couple days after I do the injections. ID Doc gave me something with salicyc acid in it. She said they werent "Real" pimples or acne (whatevs, it's not her face they are invading)

related issue...It seems I'm getting worse at giving myself the injections. Ever since I hit a nerve or something and made my lower leg and foot tingle (doc says I was giving it to low on the side of my leg.) I've been real anxious about giving them, I get the needle all ready and then it takes me about 5 minutes to actually get it done, I repeatedly touch the tip of the needle to my leg then freak out and pull away. I would never make a good IV drug user. Adding to my misery is I cant do it fast and ahve to stick the needle in really really slow (30 seconds to get it all the way in), which in turns freaks me out.

Seems it will have to start going to the doc to get them done.

For a long time I struggled with giving myself injections too, and did the whole hesitation and then wicked slow needle into leg thing. What I discovered that helped me do it better was to get everything ready, line the needle up with the spot you want to inject into, look away, exhale, and then just jab yourself as quickly as you can. It helps if the arm that you are using to inject with isn't resting on your leg, because then you can't sense where your hand is in relation to your leg so you won't hesitate when you get close. Just hover and press in. Maybe tries these tips out and let me know how they go? Since I've been doing them my injections have been going much more smoothly!

Back when I used to give myself allergy shots, I had the same issues towards the end...
It was HELL slowly sticking that needle into my leg. I was never so happy to stop taking those shots. Now twenty years later I have to give my partner and myself daily shots subQ. It is not as bad these days, but I think I will teach my partner how to do it for me. So my suggestion is to find someone else, close by, and teach them to do the chore. I am always amazed how well I can give an injection to anyone else besides me!
