Hi everyone!

I'm participating in this year's HIV/AIDS walk and run in Chicago on September 15th (please sign
up if you're reading this and you're in Chicago!). www.aidschicago.org

Any ideas or suggestions on a slogan, quote, question, statement that I can design a t-shirt
around? I am also planning on sending out invites to everyone I know to get them involved in
the walk or at least make a donation. I'm hoping to use this "saying" or "slogan"
as the basis of my design. My focus is to get people to stop and become more aware
that HIV can enter anyone's life and that we all need to start paying a hell of a lot more attention to
AIDS and HIV in this country.
By the way, I thought the short article about Bono on this front page of this site hit the nail right on the head!

These are a few that I came up with...let me know what you think!

Steppin' out to empower

Create impact through action

Anyway, any and all suggestions are welcome!

well-intentioned ideas, but words that have become overused, I fear.

how about: I'm off my ass, are you? .........deliberately in-your-face, which is something sorely missing in the movement for over a decade

I dont know about the AIDS Walk in your area but I have noticed the demographic has changed a lot here.... no longer mostly gay men and friends marching....but school kids and etc
so
Teach Safe SEX
and
Free CONDOMS

and stuff like that might be good

Here are a couple of suggestions.

Many roll, crawl, stumble and walk with the virus every day.
Take one day to walk in support of them.

HIV/AIDS is still a worldwide crisis
that YOU can affect locally.

Be Safe. Be Smart. Stay Involved.

Don't know who you are or whom you represent, but want to share that I agree w/RedHot's comments.

If you use a cliche in this setting, it will be the equivalent of playing air guitar. You have an opportunity, IN CHICAGO OF ALL PLACES, to have a provocative slogan.

Please don't miss the chance to educate and motivate. This is not a car commercial, nor a corporate team building experience.

There are plenty of folks in ChiTown who can help you with this. Long-term HIV poz folks and plenty of newly infected, too---reach out to some of them if we don't give you what you need.

Hi MF,

You say you want to "get people to stop and become more aware that HIV can enter anyone's life and that we all need to start paying a hell of a lot more attention to AIDS and HIV in this country", but yet not one of your slogans mentions hiv. Your slogans could be about anything.

My suggestions:

Hiv: it's not just for Christmas, it's for life.

Condoms prevent hiv infection, but only when you use them.

Your event is two weeks away. Did you end up incorporating any of the many ideas and resources which were posted in response to your request for input? Most people like to know what happens as it helps them to be willing to reply to the next person asking for input. Thanks.
