extreme symptoms after protected sex
« on: January 24, 2018, 03:03:54 am »
106 days ago i made the biggest mistake of my life i slept with a prostitute i had picked up in a brothel. We had protected virginal sex first round and protected penetrative virginal sex on the second round. The condoms looked intact but on the second round the sex felt a bit wet like unprotected sex but the condom was on. She had given me a hand job for me to climax so i am assuming my exposure must have come from the hand job because she had rubbed her virgina first so maybe my penis was exposed before sex and on the other hand i suspect that maybe the condom on the second round must have let virginal fluids inside because it felt wet but when i removed it i did not notice any obvious tear.28 days later i had every symptom in the book till now. I developed a low grade fever, muscle and joint pain that is extreme every part of my body hurts, night sweats, chills, extreme fatigue i can hardly lift up twenty kgs, dry mouth and a white tongue which easily gets ulcers, and an itchy rash on my arms and face,i have sharp pains in the areas of lymph nodes. these symptoms have been with me for 75 days now and have never improved.I have lost hope since i have never been this sick before so i guess i will test positive for hiv.

Hi

The handjob is not a concern, HIV is simply not transmitted this way

Fluids once exposed outside the human body are no longer HIV infectious, meaning the HandJob was no risk whatsoever. Sexually HIV is only transmitted within the confides of the human body

Condoms when they fail are designed to shred leaving no doubt, from what you posted here the condom was intact and latex or polyurethane condoms are effective barriers against HIV, HIV simply cannot transmit through the intact barrier.

Nothing you mentioned here was a HIV transmission risk, so you did not get HIV from this incident and your symptoms are not HIV specific at all. I hope you feel better soon but work with your doctor to find the cause and to treat your condition.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, every time, no exceptions.

Keep in mind that some sexual practices which may be described as ‘safe’ in terms of HIV transmission might still pose a risk for transmission of other STI's, so please do get fully tested regularly and at least yearly for all STI's including but not limited to HIV and test more frequently if unprotected intercourse occurs

Also note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms and the only way of knowing is by testing.

More information on HIV Basics, PEP, TaSP and Transmission can be found through the links in my signature to our POZ pages, this includes information on HIV Testing

Kind regards

Jim

Most common symptom is to have none at all, people who do have symptoms its mostly so mild that they barely notice.  ARS is overrated.

Work with your doctor to find the cause and to treat your condition.

If you do ever contract HIV it was not from getting a handjob - the very thought is irrational and to be frank paranoid and ridiculous.

it was not just a hand job i had penetrative sex as well,my fear comes from symptoms that are extreme and that match ARS. Have you seen anyone in my case escape the bullet and test negative with these hugely alarming symptoms that some people had on this forum who described the same symptoms i have during their seroconversion period

As I have explained HIV cannot transmit through an intact condom either. Nothing you posted here would result in a HIV infection end of story!

Some people post about aliens and limbs shrinking, it's stories and not fact, do yourself a favour stop reading utter rubbish. Symptoms are pointless discussion we stick to facts about HIV transmission when providing risk assessments. What you posted was not a risk, so if you do ever pick up HIV it was not from this incident.

See a doctor and treat whatever is making you sick regardless of your HIV status.
