Happy 24th Damn Fool
« on: July 15, 2011, 05:49:37 pm »
Today is our 24th anniversary.  Yes, there really is life after being diagnosed HIV +.

Throughout all the ups and downs and ins and outs of those 24 years, our bond, commitment, love, and respect for one another has never wavered.

Back in the "olden" days when my health was forcasting a pretty ugly certainty, he never once blinked, he never once complained, he was right there beside me every step of the journey.

For that, and so much more, he will always be the love of my life.

In 2009, when he lost his job, we had no idea what the future would be.  But just as he stood by me in my struggles, I stood by him.

Today, we celebrate.  And there isn't a day that goes by that I don't count my blessings for this wonderful life we've experienced.  Seriously, it has been/and is a wonderful life.

Sometimes I read threads in these forums from members who question whether they'll ever truly find a soul mate, given their diagnosis.

Yes you can!

So in that, I pledge this post to the man who has been the rock of my life, the man who has been my mediating balance, the man I'm humbled to call my partner.

24 years.  I think it's the thing I'm most proud of in my life.

L & K damn fool

Thanks everyone for your congrats.  Like I said, I really am a very lucky man.

Aztecan, I would love to tell you we celebrated in style.  Naked hunky men and all sorts of debauchery, the truth is, . . . . . we both fell asleep in front of the t.v. around 9:00 p.m.  Isn't growing old "gracefully" fantastic?   ::)

Basquo, DF was intending to go to Seattle for a couple of days, but then he got snookered into hosting his sister's 50th surprise birthday party on that weekend.  So I guess you'll simply have to grow more fingers, or you and Santi will have to plan a visit to our neck of the woods.

Well, having spent the better part of the day working in the yard, then fixing plumbing issues in her majesties bathroom (AnnieBC), it's time for a shower and then supper.

RAB - I hope you and DF had a wonderful anniversary - your relationship is an inspiration.... and there is probably nothing better than falling asleep in front of the t.v. at 9:00 with the one you love.

Many more years of happiness and health and sleepy nights together in front of the t v. for you both.
