Hi Paintedroom, how are you feeling?  Have you talked to your doctor about wanting to continue exercising?  I wouldn't think that, if you're used to it, weight training would hurt your low Cd4 count.  I was just wondering if you really felt up to it with such a low count.  Have you been sick?  Or very tired?

As I said, I wouldn't tell you to stop your weight training, but I would advise talking to your doctor about it i.e. the intensity, frequency etc.

Continue your life as normal, no need to start changing things like this.

Hi Betty, well today feeling pretty wrecked but that`s for want of sleep for the last couple of nights.I don`t feel sick but fatigue has been an issue moreover for the last year.I guess my immune system, such as it is,is working very hard to combat everyday invaders.

I see Doctor on Monday for the first time and will ask him then.Intensity and frequency..i will remember that.

The Endorphins from weight training leave you with a mild elation for a good few hours after training. It`s a natural anti depressant and beats alcohol in any attempt to divorce yourself from the stress of this situation. It also ensures a healthy appetite.I find the discipline gives shape to my day.

Many thanks to you and wade and Jim.

I agree with the posters above. Keep doing it.

If you had never done any exercise or weights then thats a bit different as it can be a shock to the system. As you are used to it there is no reason not to continue.

In fact it's probably your fitness regime that has helped you remain relatively problem-free with a low count.

Question: I've got HIV, can I still do _______?

Answer: Yes, you can still _______, live your life as you always have.

It really doesn't matter what you plug into the blank.
