sinkhole swallows man in Florida
« on: March 01, 2013, 02:57:00 pm »
Yikes!
A sinkhole formed under the guys bedroom and the 30 foot deep hole took him down.
His brother tried to save him but couldn't see anything but part of his mattress.

Beyond words.  Feel so sorry for that man and his family.

Oh Dear ... I should have read the story before I began the teasing , I didn't realize a man had lost his life . How horrifying for him and his family .

I was living near Montgomery and a sink hole appeared by my back steps that I kept filling with dirt . One morning I stepped down on the brick pavers and they gave way and I was only barely able to crawl out of a huge sink hole , very scary .

In two more hours you could have dumped 10 cars in that hole and had room for more . My step dad owned the property and home I was living in and it cost him thousands to have that hole filled and fixed from happening again . It was frightening how fast that hole grew in such a short time .

It was caused by a buried wrecked car hauler , the kind you see dozens of cars on going down the hiway . The combination of sandy soil and unfilled voids around the car hauler caused it to happen .

I've swallowed a number of men in Florida.

It's no big deal.

Seriously, my condolences. My heart goes out to the family.

this is so sad.  I watched the brother on TV talking about his little brother. It makes me so sad to see a guy crying for some reason, i wish i could give him a big hug. My heart goes out to the family.  It doesn't seem like they can do much of trying to recover that guy at this point.  who would ever think your life would end in such an odd/weird way.

Kentucky is on the list of states prone to sink holes.  How awful to be in bed and this happen.  I find myself wondering how long he may have been alive.  That bothers me.

Many will remember the mine collapse from like 2004, or something like that.  They could never reach them, and they were left there.  I just kept wondering how many survived and were waiting for rescue that didn't come.

I don't know of any sink holes here in Texas, but my roommates house is on a slight hill and the front lawn starting washing away, tree fell down, he had to end up having a retaining wall put in the front of the house so it wouldn't slide into the street.  The in-ground pool in the back yard keeps sinking, they had to come and dig it up and put stabilizers.

If i ever hear any rumbling or movement, i don't care if I'm sleeping in my birthday suit, Mikey is running out into the street in the buff.  i guess at least im on the second story of the house, that may buy me some time.

Poor man. Absolutely terrifying.

I have a small "sinkhole", about the size of a 5 gallon bucket about 15 feet from my bedroom. I tossed and turned thinking about that sinkhole last night. But the good thing is it has been the same size for years. So I think I'm safe...for now 8)

I bet that every time you sit down on a toilet you worry about a snake coming up from the water and chomping off your dick.

Can the city or state check it to make sure it is not a problem?
