Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Anyone who needs to post more than three messages in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum -- including past, present and future POZ Forums members -- will need to subscribe, with secure payments made via PayPal.

Question about indirect contact

hi,
few days ago i met a girl in a night club we went in a room and we had some play but no sex.

She touched my penis with her hand and with the other touched her vagina. I really don't remember if at any time she switched hand and touched my penis with the hand she touched her vagina.

She also touched my testicles with the hand she used to masturbate herself.

I know that is and indirect contact but the time passed from touching her vagina and my penis/testicles was very short (about 1/2 seconds)

Am I at risk?

You didn't have a risk ... absolutely no risk . These are the risk factors for HIV ...

Sharing IV drug needles immediately after use.
Unprotected anal and vaginal sex.
Mother to child during or shortly after birth
Very specific healthcare situations.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED HIV TESTING AT THIS TIME for this incident , anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Thanks so much Jeff for your reply, but i'm still worried for what happened... I red over the web that  virus take about 5/10 seconds to became inactive, and in my case  the time taken from her vagina to my penis by her finger has been really short(about 1/2 seconds).
Is this time enough to inactivate the virus?

What you're talking about is called mutual masturbation and mutual masturbation is in NO WAY a risk for hiv infection. Her hand could have been absolutely dripping in vaginal fluids when she touched your penis and you would not have been at risk for hiv.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!!!

Ann thanks for you clear and rapid reply,
so from your reply and what i've red in the other post it doesn't matter how many seconds pass from vagina to penis trough fingers, but what immediately inactivate the virus is the contact with oxygen and the pH of the fingers independently from how many seconds pass from her vagina to my penis...
Am I right?

It doesn't matter. Hiv is an extremely fragile virus and it's only sexually transmitted INSIDE the body.

You have NOT had a risk for hiv infection.

Geo , you really didn't have a risk and if you did every moderator on this forum would tell you so that you could seek medical attention , that's what we do .
