Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Risk assessment for recent CSW encounters

Hi all -

19 days ago I visited one of the nudist (FKK) clubs in Germany.

During the course of an evening, I had three encounters, each including unprotected insertive oral and protected vaginal sex.  In the third, the deed was finished with an unprotected handjob using a vibrator for extra external stimulation.

About a week after, I developed bright red dots on the tip of my tongue which are very sensitive to heat/spice.  My GP seemed unconcerned. This persists and is *definitely* aggravated by stress.

19 days in now and every day seems to bring a new symptom, with hours of concommitant Internet research.  I suspect this is mostly anxiety.  I'm doing my best to stay busy but it isn't easy.

Two questions:
* thoughts on this exposure risk (ie multiple partners in short time frame)
* is a 4.5 week rapid test pointless or helpful for some mind ease?

At no time were you at risk. You had protected vaginal sex and oral sex and masturbation is not a risk of contracting HIV.

Thanks, RapidRod, for your insight.  It is much appreciated and comforting.

Still, my mind is getting the best of me. I keep experiencing new symptoms: super sore stiff neck most recent, unilateral.  This is coupled with fatigue, weird tongue issues that have already resolved, etc.  21 days past exposure now.  So many what-ifs and yeah-buts about my possible exposure.

Planning to take an OraQuick at 4.5 weeks (lots of travel takes me away from testing until much later unfortunately). Hoping this will give me some piece of mind until I can get tested at a later date.

Taking the weekend off from the internet and symptom hunting. My medical eduction will just have to wait.   :D

Edit:  Occam's Razor is useful for moments of mental weakness.  Probably fatigued from stress, neck sore from bad pillow, right?

As far as risk is concerned, testing is a waste of money and assets for you. Nothing you did put you at risk for HIV transmission.

If you have symptoms that are concerning you, discuss them with your doctor.

This is not an HIV situation and all of your doubts, fears and other stuff your mind may come up with won't change the facts of the situation.

Get on with your life.
