Got today my lab tests...
« on: November 27, 2006, 03:14:15 pm »
CD4:696 and V.L.:<40(Undetected)

The labs before that were CD4:849 and V.L.:<40 (Undetected)

I am pretty worried as i didnt"expect" a drop in my CD4 count ,the Doc said that it might be that the 696 is going to be the usual number i am gonna get from now on if nothing else happens in the meantime. :-(  The rest of the tests were normal to excellent.

I am on Stocrin(Efavirenz) and Combivir for 12 months now .I am new in this forum ...and by reading it,it has really lifted my spirits a lot the last weeks:-)

Thanks for that guys and girls:-)

CD4 counts change by the minute.  What is your percentage?  Most important, your virus remained suppressed and is undetectable.  My CD4's bounce around by 200-300 every test.  I basically ignore that number.  My percentages stays around 25 all the time which is not stellar but not bad either.  Most important, I remain undetectable meaning the drugs are doing their job.  Your labs look great to me!
The difference between an overnight and a layover is luck!

Hey:-)

Thanks for the reply:-)

My percentages vary from 28-31%.

To be honest i havent yet understood the meaning of the percentages. I found that :"CD4 percentages refer to the number of CD4 T-cells within every 100 lymphocytes, the subset of white blood cells that includes T-cells and B-cells" but my "medical english" is not good enough to get what that actually means:-S

And doesnt it mean that the decrease in the CD4 cells mean that my system doesnt respond to the meds perfectly?

Good numbers Jankar !!
CD4's can even fluctuate between time of day. If it matters to you try and be consistent with blood draws wether am or pm so I was told.

Congrats on staying adherent !

Its 31-33 %

Hi Jankar. Percentages deal with total lymphocytes. 31% means 31% of your lymphocytes were CD4 cells. 31-33% is fabulous honey!  8)  8)
