Received this letter today from my previous HIV doctor
« on: September 29, 2010, 09:07:47 pm »
I just received this letter in the mail today, from my previous HIV doctor.  Although I am no longer seeing him, since I went into the VA Health care, I have been in touch, with some of his staff.

For those in the St. Petersburg, Clearwater, or Tampa area, you may find this helpful or useful, so I thought  I would pass this on.

Dear Patients:

As many of you know, I have been an independent medical office for the past 18 years, and take pride and enjoyment in providing specialized care to patients that have medical issues that not many other physicians are willing or able to manage.

I am pleased to announce that this office is going to join AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) Organization.  AHF's mission is to " Provide cutting-edge medicine and advocacy regardless of ability to pay".

We will be the fourth AHF healthcare center in Florida ( the others are in Jacksonville, Ft. Lauderdale, and North Miami) , and 15th in the United States.  The association with AHF officially is effective October 1st, 2010.

AHF is a not-for -profit organization and also is the country's largest provider of medical care to those infected with HIV.  You may want to visit their website  www.aidshealth.org to learn more about the tremendous work AHF does.

I am not going anywhere, and will still be here as will Mona, Tiffany and Donna.  We will continue with all our insurance plans, and probably even more of them.  We will also be able to see patients that do NOT have any insurance. We will continue seeing all of our patients that do not have HIV , including transgendered patients and others.  You can expect to see some changes over time as the collaboration with AHF will enable us to provide even more services and increased  availability to all the patients we have been treating.  We will continue to accept almost all new HIV and transgendered patients.  I especially look forward to having more assistance in the office which will enable me to tackle several new projects and services.

I am very excited about this new association and I see many great things coming from it.  Over time, I am sure that you will too.

Sincerely ,

Barry M. Rodwick, MD
