Senate Minority Leader Race
« on: October 13, 2008, 11:36:26 am »
Just as important for me to see Obama win, it is also important that Sen. Mitch McConnell (KY), Senate Minority Leader, be defeated.  Polls done shortly after the primary had McConnell with double digit leads.  The most recent poll I can find is the Mason Dixon done at the end of Sept, that showed McConnell with a 1pt lead.  Originally this race was no where on the DNC agenda, but just last week they start running commercials for the democratic nominee Bruce Lunsford, a sure sign the race is close. While there is no way in the world Obama will carry Kentucky, he could have major coattails here in Louisville, which is in one of only 2 counties Obama carried in the primary.  Countless statewide races have been won by who carries Jefferson County and in particular the West End of Louisville.  So keep your fingers crossed that after 24 years we finally DITCH MITCH!!!

Keeping my fingers crossed as MM is one of the worst members of that body...And it appears (as of today) that Obamas rising tide is lifting a lot of boats. We may see quite a few surprises next month....
