hahaha,

Yes, the blood will have to be cleaned repetively since there is still  virus in reservoirs (kinda like dialysis). This invention will be neat for those with mutation ridden virus.

Thanks, v.
The news also saids, "In addition, the Hemopurifier helps preserve a natural immune response via the extraction of gp120 and other toxic proteins shed by HIV to destroy immune cells."
Does it means that, our liver can not clean up toxics comes from HIV?  I thought when HIV dies in the body, gp120 shall be metabolized.  Am I wrong?
Seems that it also serve as a "vitalized plastic surgery" for rich HIV postive patient. :)

hahaha,

I believe the kidney (along with other organs) removes the waste products produced by catabolism (destructive metabolism), if I remember my biology correctly. I believe the hemopurifier just "kicks it up a notch".

The reason why the blood will have to be repetively cleaned, as stated, is that after the first  "cleaning",
hiv in reservoirs will activate and start the process all over again.

Your right about "vitalized plastic surgery", but, not just for wealthy hiv patients. Hopefully, it would be accepted as treatment just like dialysis is for diabetes.
