Yeah, I got jumped on for saying I thought the former governor of Hawaii was a lesbian.  So, lez all be careful.  Ok, Will & Grace used that one, so it can't be offensive, right?  I don't think the Bieb has grass on the field yet.  At 16, I don't think he's been through puberty.  It will be interesting to see him in 5 or 10 years to see if he looks more masculine--if he is still around, which the odds are against.  And, this country is so funny.  We love sex, even with teenagers like Justin and Miley, but we're also so prudish.  I'm as liberal as they come, but I don't think a 16 year-old should be doing shirtless photo-shoots.  Especially one who doesn't seem like he's gone through puberty yet.  But, then again, the age of consent in most states is 16.

He's 16 why can't he do a shirtless photo for teenage fans?  This has been going on for decades.

(Thinking of 60's 70's Tiger Beat.....)

Yeah its kinda of creepy for old gay men to be looking.

Boy's got a 100 million now.  Maybe he'll pull a Jodie Foster, Brooke Shields, Emma Watson and get himself a college education soon.

If Justin had been around in the early '70s, I probably would have been into him. Our choice of teenage eye candy in those days was Donny Osmond and yes, I was a fan. A drooling fan at that. I was a fan of Marie too when she came on the scene. I don't recall Donny (or Marie lol) ever posing shirtless though and I don't suppose it would have been the done thing back then.

That child still looks like a DIKE to me  :D :D :D

You find that terminology appropriate for same sex lovin' womyn?

You know, this is one area that has always been a minefield for me. I've known women who hated the term lesbian and preferred to be called a gay woman - my sister is one such woman. And I've known women who hated the term gay women because they thought the word gay "belonged" to the men. I've known women who embraced the term dyke, and others who took it as a serious insult, no matter who used it. The list goes on and on.

It seems to be partially a regional and/or personal thing as to which term is considered acceptable and who can use which term and who cannot. At least where men are concerned, there seems to be no argument over the term gay men and anyone can use it.

For myself, a bi woman, I don't mind being called a dyke. I never liked the term lesbian because it brings back memories of insults like lezzie or lezbo. These words were always said with contempt, but not so much dyke, at least in my experience. I don't mind being called gay either, although I will usually put the person right and tell them I'm bi, thankyouverymuch!

But back to Justin - leave the poor kid alone and leave him to the tweenie and teen crowd, where he belongs. It's pretty creepy when you over 21s drool over him. At least have the decency to do it in private, if you gotta do it.

Its like any other group that experiences discrimination.  (Everyone belongs to one or two, it seems.)

So you can use the pejorative term with each other.  The group lets trusted outsiders use it in some circumstances.

Its offensive to use it if the group hasn't obviously given you permission.

Its probably just easiest not to use the term unless you are member of the group addressing another member.

Yeah, yeah, I understand all that about discrimination etc. What I was talking about is that there seems to be no "safe" term to use for women who have sex with women like there is with the men. As long as the word gay isn't said with a snarl, you're usually ok. It's not like that with women, at least not in my experience.

I assume you mean Susan Dey from The Partridge Family.  Yeah, she was hot...all the way through that lawyer show she did a couple of years back (which I can't think of the name of right now).  I wasn't a huge Shaun fan myself...my sister was, and I got toted along to see him at The Omni (about a 10-15,000 seater).

That's right, she was also called Susan in the Partridge family.

Parker Stevenson was hot too.

One of my all-time favourites has been Valerie Bertinelli from One Day at a Time and she's still hot. She's the only reason I watch the new sit-com Hot in Cleveland. I originally watched the first episode just because I grew up in the Greater Cleveland area, but once I found out she was in it I've watched all of them so far. I think this coming week's will be the last of the series. The show is only so-so, but I like watching her, she's cute as a button even now. Betty White is funny too, she's probably the funniest character in the show.

Mmmmmm.....

We all agree that kid stars today are marketed as sex symbols now more than ever.  Publicity turns into increased revenue.  I am sure little girls AND boys go nuts over JB and in a few years from now there will be a new one to take his place.

My first celebrity crush developed when I saw the movie, The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes.  Kurt Russell was my idol and I wanted to have his babies.  He was 18 years old when that film was made so I guess his meat was legal.

I wasn't sure, so I just looked it up on imbd. Here in the UK, we're on season one, which only had ten episodes and yes, this next week's is the last for us. In the US, you're on season two, which will have 12 episodes as far as I can make out, with the last one airing on May 5th.

agreed. and with the forums being so easily googled, I hope this thread doesn't fuel the fires of the image of gay men being pedophiles. It's one thing to discuss crushes/teen-idols from years past; but oggling current shirtless teen boys is pretty creepy.

I much prefer the "bear" threads, at least then the discussion centers around grown-ups and not jail bait. ;)

This has always been true in my experience as well, it seems like each group of women that I knew had different identifiers.  To me dyke was probably the most offensive term if uttered by heterosexuals, but by gay men and women was completely acceptable.  A lot of the younger crowd seems to prefer queer but to me that term is extremely offensive because that's what my grandparents used in a highly negative connotation of all same sex lovin' folks.  There really is no winning if you're not familiar with someone's preferences.  Oh and as mellow as I am about people making stupid commentary the way to make my blood boil is to have a straight man call me a faggot.  I've punched someone square in the face for doing just that.

Alas, my dear you are not a gay man so you don't have a clue how gay men (often) employ the word "dyke" (certainly if laid out in ALL CAPS) -- sometimes it's used in a queer power manner and not offensive, but I'd say at least 80% of the time it's intended to demean.  It's no huge secret that in large, urban gay scenes the gay men do not mix with the gay women.

One of my best friends is a lesbian, and I do use the word dyke with her, but it's always in a joke type manner and I wouldn't do it in a larger group setting.  Kind of like how she would use the word "fag" in a larger group of gay men, but she could do so with me.  But yes, I'm sure it varies like that and probably regionally.

the way to make my blood boil is to have a straight man call me a faggot.  I've punched someone square in the face for doing just that.

When I first moved to the UK, it felt really strange to hear people call ciggies "fags". I'm used to it now and use it myself, but never in reference to a man.

Fair comment. However, the gay men I know on the Rock use the term dyke, but not in a demeaning manner. The women use it too. The gay men and women tend to mix around here, maybe because the gay community here is fairly small as many young gay men and women move to the mainland as soon as they go off to university or otherwise become independent from their parents. But I have seen the separation in the cities in the States. I belonged to the GLBT group at KSU (Kent Gay-Lesbian Foundation, if I remember correctly) and while most of the members mixed with each other, there were factions of separatists of both men and women.

Anyway, I doubt very much that Dennis meant it in a demeaning way.

But back to Valerie - while googling her, I found some references to her having a battle with her weight for a while - but even the photos of her when she had some extra pounds were still hot. She's all woman and a beautiful one at that, even when "fat". I've been in love lust with her since her One Day at a Time days and a bit of extra padding didn't bother me in the least.

It is early Sunday morning. CaptCarl sits at his computer, bleary-eyed and waiting for the caffeine and Ritalin to kick in. He logs on to AM to see what his friends are up to, and notices this thread by Miss P. He is fond of Miss P's thread, because they usually make him laugh. Imagine his surprise when he opens the link, and sees Teh Biebs sans shirt.

Alas, my dear you are not a gay man so you don't have a clue how gay men (often) employ the word "dyke" (certainly if laid out in ALL CAPS) -- sometimes it's used in a queer power manner and not offensive,

Miss P what do u want me to say? I sorry, if I was offensive to you in any way  :-* I won't don't it again  :-[
just put on ur stiletto heels and riding crop in hand, and I'll get on all 4's NAKED and all will be forgiven  :D

I think it was in a Gawker comment that I read that JB was the most successful anthropological doctoral thesis in the history of Smith College  ;D I guess that vid blows that little theory out of the water, huh?

I remember shirtless pics of David Cassidy and Bobby Sherman when I was a tween; though I felt kinda meh about the former, I despised the latter (though my sister, now a lesbian, adored him). I was much more into Cat Stevens, myself.

It should be noted, however, that these guys were all over 18 at the time. There is something definitively kidporn-esque about the OP, and I'm not known for my puritanical POV  ;)

As to the whole lez/dyke thing: context is king here. I'd use the word dyke in front of my sister if I were discussing an especially butch specimen of the species, and she'd hardly be offended. But it's not a word I'd toss about as casually as, say, faggot in mixed company. On the other hand, Pride parades are generally led by a contingency of Dykes on Bikes and always have been. I really don't understand the whole pearl-clutching regarding its use in this thread.

agreed. and with the forums being so easily googled, I hope this thread doesn't fuel the fires of the image of gay men being pedophiles. It's one thing to discuss crushes/teen-idols from years past; but oggling current shirtless teen boys is pretty creepy.

Good point -- but nobody here is oogling Bieber.

And Miss P started it off with "vile" -- which either means Bieber or the media machine that made that vile video.

au contraire mon frère!  There's been plenty of under-age Bieber lust on these forums the past several months.  And I must say it's been rather revealing.

We all agree that kid stars today are marketed as sex symbols now more than ever.

I dunno how new it is.  Those 60's 70's and 80's teens were marketed as sex symbols.  The public accepts a bit more all the time.  I didn't think the Bieber video above was all that provocative.  Just a teeny bop star walking around with his shirt off.

Handlers know how far to push it to get the biggest return.  Bieber seems to be letting himself be manufactured to the greatest audience possible.

Taylor Momsen said fuck it all and became a tarty "edgy" rocker before 18 and her career has hardly taken off.

Too much sexy, too young, for marketing, it basically turns people off in my opinion.

Then when they are 18, 19, early 20's they do the scandalous shit to breathe life into the career.

Referring back to the auto-tune thread, it just a bonus if some of them can sing and dance well.

Maybe not, but of course we have no way of knowing who's ogling. We do have our second Bieber thread in a month, both with more than a bit of a creep factor. Curious that an androgynous lad will illicit so much chatter from grown men. I don't get it.

Maybe I am.  I dont remember any grown men saying they are turned on by him.  I thought it was all commentary about how either how silly and harmless he is, or how weirdly girly.  But many of the teen beat idols over the years were girly boys. Nothing new.

You saw the clip Leno dragged up of Mathew Morrison in a "gay boy band" comedy routine.

http://www.hollywoodlife.com/2011/04/08/matthew-morrison-jay-leno-gay-boy-band/

Its not just the gay guys discussing Bieber.  He's a really huge star and all sorts of commentary about him out there these days.  Lots of talk about him in European tabloids too.

Since this Bieber isn't made for me I agree that I felt a little creepy watching Miss P's video.  But he doesn't do anything scandalous.

The french are always turning out films about adolescent sexuality and they don't make me feel creepy if I watch.  I saw the Twilight films and didn't feel perverted.

There is something a little unsettling about Bieber but clearly only adults feel this cause billions of kids adore him.

Same here.  Or actually I began noticing his man-morphosis about six months ago. In fact previously I couldn't tell one from the other and only associated them with posters on the wall of my 12 year old niece's bedroom.

Now why someone with daily diarrhea issues like you would want to wear a jockstrap really defies explanation.  That's just filthy.  I buy 2(x)ist in black jockeys because then I can't see any skidmarks.

Dearie rest assured Joe Jonas has a few jockstrap looks he doesn't share with the public.

He was no doubt paid a fortune, and a great bonus to show up Zac Efron who looks like hes suffocating in his spanx to get into that skinny sharkskin suit.  Joe Jonas doesnt look like a douchebag to me, which is funny since hes supposed to be the queer brother and they are so wishywashy.

U.S. AGE OF CONSENT

Justin Bieber is 17 years old (birthdate: March 1, 1994) that makes him legal in most of the United States not that any of us would want the Biebs that way or that he would want any of us but the dire warnings of "jail bait" are a little much.

but the dire warnings of "jail bait" are a little much.[/b]
you should actually read that wiki article rather than just linking to the pics. ;) Many states not only have age of consent laws for minors but also have laws defining the age of a major (usually 3-4 yrs olders than the minor). So just because the bebs may be 17 and be "legal" it is still illegal (ie a "dire warning") for someone over 22 to have sex with him - hence why he was described as "jail bait" and not as a "minor".

I didn't realize this guy was quite this large.  He's literally out of breath within about 10 seconds it's just sad.  I feel bad for him.

I think he's double in size in the past year -- absolutely massive now.  He probably does private porn web cam shows for gay men into someone that overweight.

Many states not only have age of consent laws for minors but also have laws defining the age of a major (usually 3-4 yrs olders than the minor). So just because the bebs may be 17 and be "legal" it is still illegal (ie a "dire warning") for someone over 22 to have sex with him - hence why he was described as "jail bait" and not as a "minor".

If they aint 18 or older, I don't want em, my entire career has been spent baby-sitting grown-ass-men, so, I'm sorry I'm just not interested in holding some fucking grown-ass whiner's hand, been there done all of that before, I'm retired now, and don't have to care about that shit anymore ;)

It's no more creepier for gay men to be slobbering over Baby Biebs than in it is for guys to be slobbering over high school cheerleaders. It is what it is.

Personally I don't think it is appropriate for any adult to be slobbering over minors of any sex.

you should actually read that wiki article rather than just linking to the pics. ;) Many states not only have age of consent laws for minors but also have laws defining the age of a major (usually 3-4 yrs olders than the minor). So just because the bebs may be 17 and be "legal" it is still illegal (ie a "dire warning") for someone over 22 to have sex with him - hence why he was described as "jail bait" and not as a "minor".

Well, of course leatherman, I would expect those so concerned to read up before engaging in questionable activities. I doubt, seriously, anyone on this board is pursuing the Biebs, however, transporting minors across state lines for illicit behavior is a federal offense in the United States whilst in some jurisdictions, gay sex is not treated the same as straight sex.

My age limit on the lower end is 24+ and I don't have one on the other end but if I get asked if you're my father (or grandfather) on a regular basis it doesn't bode well for the relationship.  I don't see the fascination with really young guys.

I am not age-phobic but having said that, I really don't have the time or patience to deal with those super young. 30 seems like a good starting point right now but, of course, it depends on the person.

The low age end for me would be 36; the high age end would be 54

I work on a large college campus - lots of good-looking younger guys - while some are fun to look at, the thought of getting with them stays far far from my mind.  I remember when I was 34 and tried (emphasis on tried) to date a guy who was 22 - it lasted all of one week (maybe even a day or two less than that).

I guess I prefer experienced and uptight as a result of age, rather than carefree and naive from lack of age.

The youngsters are just that - youngsters.

I'm flexible.  If a guy is 20 and looks like this I'm not going to get all pious and say "oh but no, I must not!" but I just confine things to either a one night stand or fuck buddy status... not that there are lines of 20 year olds like that at the door or anything.

As far as dating/relationships I've always adhered to a +/- 5 year rule.  When I was 28 I had a 19 year old boyfriend and after that one I started the rule.  Conversely when I was 30 I tried dating a 50 year old and that wasn't a great fit either.  All I had to do is snap my fingers, tell him to buy me $200 in coke, hire male hustlers for orgies and he do anything I wanted.  Cute for a night, pathetic in the long run.

Talk about creepy - you do realise, don't you, that children, CHILDREN as young as eleven or twelve may have, as you so crassly put it, grass on the wicket. What's the proof? Many of my daughter's mates started their periods in the ten to twelve age range - my daughter was twelve. I know because she told me.

Like it or not it's threads like this that the uneducated use to put laws on the books denying gays the right to adopt. It reinforces a very ugly stereotype about gay men. You can excuse it away all you want. Sadly, threads like this brings the moths to the flame.

since the beginning, and with the pedophilia-feel to this whole thread, I've wondered why this was posted in the first place. While I understand that it's not quite kiddie-porn because of the age of the subject in the video, it never seemed like appropriate material (not even in off-topic) for an HIV support forum filled with adults anyway. Just what was the intent of posting a link to this video with no description about what we would see nor any reason as to why the op wanted us to look at it in the first place?

yes. Why did you even post a link to this video with NO description and no commentary? Just wondering. I mean everyone that wondered what our esteemed fellow-member was going to chat about this time had to click to see because you gave no clues. Why did you want us to see JB shirtless? What comments were you looking for? Why did you think the adults on this site would care? Inquiring minds would like to know your motivation for even starting a thread about the shirtless JB, who is probably very underage for nearly every member here.

If you think us wondering why you posted this is about your character, then perhaps that says something about your character. ;)

I wasn't sure, so I just looked it up on imbd. Here in the UK, we're on season one, which only had ten episodes and yes, this next week's is the last for us. In the US, you're on season two, which will have 12 episodes as far as I can make out, with the last one airing on May 5th.

Good news for us, Ann, Hot in Cleveland is being renewed for a third season! I love me some Betty White, being a total Golden Girls fanatic. ;)

Valerie is really gorgeous. In fact, she reminds me of my mom when she was in her 30s. There have been moments while watching the show that, for a split second, I could have sworn I was looking at my own mother.

Back on topic... I felt really weird watching that video, and I only saw maybe 10 seconds of it. I know it's not illegal, but at the same time I felt like they should not make someone so young a "sex object". I can't quite explain the uneasiness, but I wouldn't call this pedophilia at all. You can admire someone that's underage without being sexually aroused. Being 27 (28 next week!) my dating range is usually 23-35, but it's not firm. To me, it's more about who he is - do we get along well? Is he intelligent? Do we have some of the same interests? etc.

EDIT: Yeah, agreed, let's kill this.

I think I'm the youngest one that's going to post on this thread ( just my luck)
so I'll just say it. . .  JB is ugly ( I didn't see the video since I read the words "justing Bieber"). . . his "fame" eludes me. . .

and BTW I've seen plenty of pedo's in my life, none that have commented on this thread seem like it.
but that's just my opinion. with how over-sexed famous teens are now a days, what more do you expect?
their fame is how much attention  ( for being naked, drunk, etc) they can draw to themselves, not their talent.

he's a "sex symbol" if you want to go as far as saying that, for little girls today ( and some boys it seems), so him being oggled is the point of him being shirtless and whatnot.

but just like anything related to JB I suggest you let this die.
that little pixie has no talent anyways  ::)

that's not Mom taking those pictures. :P Since my late partner isn't around to take pix anymore, and I still have a blog to fill up every month with pix and stories, I use the tripod, take movies, and grab snapshots of myself.  ;)

Trying to deflect since you still didn't bother to give your reason for posting that nondescript link (I mean, why post a link it you even think it's "vile"?), I think it's cute that my hot hairy chest has so bedazzled you 8)

I'm a little bit confused on how a shirtless 17 year old leads to pedophilia.
Trying to get a bunch of 30+ old gay men (for the most part that is what makes up these forums) to oggle a shirtless 17 yr old (I mean, why else did David post that link but to have us look/leer?) is pretty creepy and borders on pedophilia.

Clearly, this thread was posted, at least partially, to get a rise out of me,...

so while on one hand David encourages, no, admonishes us to use the mental health forum, he's over here busy posting videos of young boys to entice you (because he thinks you are a pedophile??) with a possible flamebait thread to degrade those who might actually be dealing with pedophilia or stirring up bad memories of those who were sexually abused in their teen years? Say it ain't so! :o

trying to turn this around onto me (hello passive agressiveness  :D ) still doesn't explain why you even started this thread. Just what was your motivation? Obviously you clearly knew it was provocative but how you entitled it "because I can". Just because you can doesn't always mean that you should.
